Objective:
1.
To familiarize the various steps involved in the Design Process
2.
To understand the principles involved in evaluating the shape and dimensions of a component to satisfy
functional and strength requirements.
3.
To learn to use standard practices and standard data
4. To learn to use catalogues and standard machine components
Course objective:
The student will gain knowledge on the Study of design the machine parts under various conditions
Programme Educational Objectives :
Our mechanical engineering graduates will be successful professionals with a commitment to quality, performance,
society, environment, country, safety and ethics when discharging duties as engineers, managers, researchers and
administrators.
Graduates will have a successful career in mechanical engineering or related fields in industry, academia and other
organizations throughout the world where an engineering approach to problem solving and ability to independent
learning is highly valued.
Programme Outcomes:
Graduates will demonstrate the ability to use the techniques, skills, and engineering tools necessary for practicing in
Mechanical Engineering field.
Graduates will demonstrate the ability to identify, formulate, and solve mechanical engineering problems.
Course Outcomes:
1.
Be able to analyze the stress and strain on mechanical components; and understand, identify and quantify
failure modes for mechanical parts.
2.
Demonstrate knowledge on basic machine elements used in machine design; design machine elements to
withstand the loads and deformations for a given application, while considering additional specifications.
3.
Be able to approach a design problem successfully, taking decisions when there is not a unique answer.
