This is an update on the Crutches4Africa project
our club participated in earlier this year The
container that was loaded on July 30 in Denver
with 35 friends has safely reached Kenya. And the
end is in sight for it to clear customs soon in
Nakuru. The plan is to visit Kenya next month to
distribute the mobility devices. This shipment is
special because five loading volunteers were
Rotary district past-governors. We are thankful for
their help.
Follow Crutches4Africa on Instagram as we pick
up a truck load of 1000+ pairs of crutches in
Dayton, OH and deliver them to what is already in
Atlanta, GA. This shipment is planned for the
spring of 2016.
We will have all the holiday festivities- so please
plan to be there.

Many of you will remember the World President

let Roger or Cliff know your interest. Only 700
people can be accommodated, and it is
expected to sell-out quickly.
Jon then went on to describe scams that are
showing up in the area particularly taking
advantage of senior citizens. He discussed the

Lt. Jon King from the Moraga Police Department Our Speaker
Today
Jon began his talk by discussing the recent home
invasion here in Moraga. He felt that the home
was targeted and the fact that there were no
injuries or physical assaults was very lucky. He
advised the audience to be aware of their
surroundings and call the police if you see any
strange cars or people in your neighborhood and
keep less cash and jewelry around your home.
Jon stated that dogs are a deterrent to this type
of crime as are alarm systems and surveillance
cameras. He advised that everyone subscribe to
nixle.com to receive bulletins and notifications
from the police department.
Dont click on suspicious links in an email.
Lotteries do not charge fees when you
win.
It is against federal law to play
international lotteries.
Dont ever wire money to a suspicious
person.
If you didnt play a lottery, you cant win it!!
Dont call unknown area codes.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably
is too good to be true!!
Are you OK if what you are doing shows
up on the front page of the newspaper?
Thank you for a very relevant talk to the club
today. If there are questions or concerns,
contact Jon at
[email protected] or 1-925888-7055.
