INTRODUCTION
Hydraulic system is used to most important process of Industries and factories. Any
work done by Hydraulic system, Ex: Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Pressing, machining etc.,
above process can be made to easily vide by Hydraulic system. In this method of
machineries work is designed through Hydraulic oil. Hydraulic oil is a heavy density of
the liquid, so this process are used to all kinds of work.
Here we are fabricating the model for press operation and its known as hydraulic press
machine. Hydraulics is a topic in applied science and engineering dealing with the
mechanical properties of liquids. Hydraulic pump and hydraulic cylinder are used this
process. Hydraulic cylinders ram is increase and decrease operation finished in this
process. Fluid mechanics provides the theoretical foundation for hydraulics, which
focuses on the engineering uses of fluid properties. In fluid power, hydraulics is used for
the generation, control, and transmission of power by the use of pressurized liquids, here
our system to making of pressing operation.
Generally, Hydraulic cylinder operations are based on hydraulic pump operation.
Hydraulic oil is available in the tank. Tank is the one of the portion in the hydraulic
pump. Hydraulic oil is pumping to the Hydraulic cylinder by using hydraulic pump
system. Its the manual operation.
All hydraulic oil stored in the hydraulic cylinder. So high oil pressure create in the
cylinder portion. In this time, ram can move in the cylinder portion. So ram can perform
to our selected job. Jobs moving operation is based on length of the ram. Different types
of jobs can be performed hydraulic method. Example Hydraulic car jack, Hydraulic JCB
crane, Hydraulic pipe bending machine etc.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
The hydraulic press depends on Pascal's principle: the pressure throughout a closed
system is constant. At one end of the system is a piston with a small cross-sectional area
driven by a lever to increase the force. Small-diameter tubing leads to the other end of the
system.
Here we are placing the hydraulic bottle cylinder on the based plate, and the pressing tool
is fixed in the hydraulic piston rod end. The working table is placed on the top of the
supporting frame. It can be adjusted according to the workpiece height by adjusting the
lock nuts which is placed at the either side of the work table. The hydraulic bottle
cylinder is working with the help of supply of oil from the pumping rod side. Here we
have to tighten the pressure relief valve then to start pumping with help of pumping rod
by pumping, the oil will supply to push the piston upward direction by this pressing tool
will move through it to pressing the workpiece. By the completing the bending process
we have to release the pressure relief valve then the piston comes it original position.

REQUIREMENTS
The main components of hydraulic press are as follows :1) Hydraulic bottle cylinder
2) Pressing tool
3) Lock nut
4) Pumping rod
5) Pressure relief valve
APPLICATIONS
1) It is used forging, clinching, moulding, blanking, punching, deep drawing, and metal
forming operations.
2) Used in small and large scale industries and cable wire making industries etc.
ADVANTAGES
1) It eliminates complicated parts like hydraulic cylinder pipe connections and
pressure tubes
2) Quite simple.
3) Easy maintenance.
4) Low cost .
5) Control of system is easier.
DISADVANTAGES
1) Hydraulic fluid is highly corrosive to most of the aircraft materials.
2) Mishandling and constant exposure to hydraulic fluid and its gas fumes without
proper equipment and precautions is a health risk.
3) If disposed improperly, a hydraulic fluid is an environmental risk
COST ESTIMATION
The estimated cost of our project is approximately INR 9000
TIME ESTIMATION
3 Months Approx.
CONCLUSION
With the help of this hydraulic press we can press the sheet metal. Unlike their
mechanical counterparts, hydraulic presses can compress any material to a full extent.
Also, hydraulic presses take only half of the space that the mechanical ones take because
they have the ability to compress a large pressure in a cylinder having a less diameter
