Syllabus

This document outlines the course objectives and content for a Computer Organization course taught over two semesters. The course covers basic computer structure and components, including data representation and error detection codes. It also examines register transfer language, microoperations, and the design of the arithmetic logic unit and accumulator. Later units address central processing unit organization, instruction formats, and microprogrammed control. The course additionally covers computer arithmetic algorithms, memory systems, input/output organization, and introduces multiprocessors. The objectives are to provide comprehensive knowledge of computer system analysis, design, and the organization of core components.
