General Guidelines - Homologation Criteria
( NGTC TECHNICAL REGULATION 3.1)
A Constructor may make application to the Administrator to Homologate a car, solely for
use within the BTCC subject to:
The engine has a production minima of 2,500 from the manufacturers family of
marques.
The production minima of the engine, the model and the family must normally have
been achieved prior to the final race of the Championship in its first full season or
the homologation may be invalidated.
The family and model being freely on sale in the UK through the manufacturers
normal dealer network.
The Administrator may consider applications for cars very close to, but below, the
nominal minimum length of 4.4m
3.1.1 Model definition
All the identical cars belonging to a family (see below) and to a production series
distinguishable by an identical conception and identical external general lines of the
bodywork, and by an identical mechanical conception of the engine and the transmission
to the wheels. At least 2,500 cars must have been produced in 12 consecutive months.
For all cars of the same model, the materials of the front and rear bumpers must be
identical. The same applies for the material of the boot lid, engine bonnet and front wings,
respectively. The bumpers of cars derived from the same model may not include
adjustable parts.
3.1.2 Family definition
Different series models belonging to one and the same production series of the same
manufacturer. At least 15,000 cars with identical external general lines of the bodywork
must have been produced in 12 consecutive months. The wheelbase as well as the
material of the bodywork/shell (including the doors) must also be identical.
All models must be available through the normal commercial channels of the
manufacturer.
The external general lines of the bodywork may vary in the following details:
- shape and material of front and rear bumpers,
- material of the boot lid, engine bonnet and front wings,
- removable aerodynamic devices (spoilers, wings, sill mouldings),
- control and comfort equipment (sun roof, auxiliary lamps, door handles, exterior
mirrors),
- decorative strips and mouldings,
- left- and right-hand drive versions,
- 2 and 4-door versions, provided that these differ only with regard to the doors, door
openings and B-pillar.
Models with differing cylinder capacities can be counted towards establishing the family
minima.

Front Subframe
The front frame attaches to the roll cage/bulkhead using 6 index bushes. The 6 index
bush locations are determined by the use a jig.
GPRMs version is pictured below, with the car set at 285mm from surface plate.
The front subframe houses the engine, gearbox, brake system, anti-roll bars, steering
and suspension.
There are two types of index bushes available a shorter version which is flanged or a
longer version which is not. They are both capably of being centre draw only. A typical set
of indexs consist of 4 short and 2 long however you could use 6 long. You may remove
part/all of the flange on the short index if required when using the 6 centre draw bolts.

Rear Subframe
The rear jig gives the locations for the 4 housing sleeves for the subframe to locate in and
the rear roll cage tubes.
The rear subframe houses the air jack, suspension, brakes, anti-roll bar and (for rear
wheel drive vehicles) the differential.
The rear subframe attaches to the roll cage using 4 sleeves/bushes with 4 nails and
collars.
The front of the rear subframe must be linked to the chassis via TOCA specified clevis
NGTC-D-024. The link and attachment method to the chassis is free.

The generic ROPS design has been calculated, analysed and validated by MIRA.
The length and width of your ROPS will change dependent on your base vehicle,
however the tube dimensions must remain as per the design and must comply with the
material specifications as stated in FIA 253 Article 8.3.3.
You are permitted to use the following as an alternative to the standard ROPS design:
Roof bars (A): You are permitted to follow FIA 8.3.2.1.3 drawing 253.12 in conjunction
with drawing 253.23 instead of drawing 253.14 in FIA 253 Article 8.
Roof bars (B): You are permitted to follow FIA 8.3.2.1.3 in conjunction with drawing
253.21 in instead of drawing 253.22 in FIA 253 Article 8.
Seat Belt Fixings: Seat Belt Fixings are free as long as the belts are attached as per FIA
253 Article 6.2
Once these changes have been ascertained the new dimensions must be submitted to
MIRA for confirmation, who have agreed a reduced fee for this service.
This can be done via Martin Legge.
Direct Tel: +44 (0)24 7635 5704 Email: [email protected]
On receipt of the information from MIRA you need to apply for a MSA Safety Cage
Certificate.
This can be done via e-mail to [email protected]

Rear Subframe
The bar that goes between the two rear frame index bushes must be at least 30mm from
the bottom of the index bushes. This is to ensure that there is enough clearance for the
push rod and rocker.
The diagram blow is a side view of the two index bushes and rear subframe.
