21.Sumans mother is 4 times as old as Suman. 20 years later, she will be just
twice as old as Suman will be then. Find the present age of Suman.
22. A shopkeeper allows his customer 10% discount. What is the sale price of a
sofa he has marked at Rs.6000? If he still gains 8 %, what is the actual cost
price of that sofa?
23. The radius of a right circular cylinder is 7 cm and its height is 10 cm. Find
its curved surface area and total surface area.
24. The histogram depicts the marks of students of class VIII in an exam :
From the histogram, answer the following questions :

25. Karen has a piece of land which is in the shape of a rhombus. She decided
to donate her land equally to an orphanage and an old age home. If the side
of the land is 100m and one of the diagonals is 160m, what is the length of
the other diagonal? How much area will each get? What are the values
exhibited by Karen through this donation?

take this amount if he had to give him a bicycle worth Rs.1800 as simple
interest?

29. The sum of the digits of a two digit number is 10. If we reverse the digits,
the new number will be 54 more than the original number. What is the
original number?
30. Maria borrows Rs. 12500 at 12 % p.a. for 2 years at simple interest and
Radha borrows the same amount for the same period at 10% p.a.
compounded annually. Who pays more interest and by how much?
31. A man sold two houses for Rs. 2,40,000 each. He gained 20% on one house
and lost 20% on the other. Find his total gain or loss %.
32. A rectangular garden plot 200 m and 150 m wide has a path all around its
inner side having a width of 3 m. In the centre of this plot, there is a
circular pond of radius7 m. What area of the land is left for the lawn?
33. The length, breadth and height of a room are 7m, 6 m and 3m.
(a) Find the cost of white washing its walls at the rate of Rs. 35 per sq.m.
(b) What is the volume of the air in that room?
(c ) What is the area of the floor?
34. The table shows the colour preference by a group of people. Draw a pie
chart showing this information.
