Support for 2.5 Gbps Mode
From R14B00, NetMaster supports the 2.5 Gbps mode feature in FibeAir IP20N, FibeAir IP-20A, FibeAir IP-20LH, and Evolution IP-20LH devices using
TCC-B2-XG-MC cards. However, care should be taken as the device may allow a
service to be defined on a card that cannot work in 2.5 Gbps mode; NetMaster
does not support such a configuration. For details on specific limitations for
2.5 Gbps mode, refer to the relevant IP-20 device Release Notes.

Installation Notes
2.1
Upgrading from Earlier Versions to NetMaster R14A02
or Later
The following are special notes for upgrading to NetMaster R14A02 or later:
1 All NetMaster services must be stopped before installing the new version.
This includes the NetMaster Server, the NetMaster System Manager, and
the NetMaster SNMP Agent.
In rare cases in which you do not manage to stop one of these services, you
must reboot the machine and then verify these services are stopped.
2 If you are using a Solaris server, you must first install Java 7.
Go to the following web page and download version 1.7.0_45:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/
After the JRE is installed, perform the following steps:
i Open a command prompt (cmd).
ii Verify that the installed JRE is in PATH by typing java version
iii If the java command is not recognized, you must add the bin directory
under the JRE installation directory to the PATH.
If the command is recognized, you will see the version of the installed
JRE, which should be 1.7_0.45.
If the version is not 1.7, do the following (assuming you have version
1.7.0.45):
cd /usr
rm java
ln -s /usr/jre/jre1.7.0_45 java

IP-20 Devices:
Some alarms raised on a specific service have a wrong ifIndex and cannot
be blocked.
Ethernet Services

If the EMS is used to create an Ethernet Service on a device and the NNI
port is configured with a Transport VLAN of Untagged, NetMaster displays
this as having a VLAN of 4096.

115609
If the server disk becomes full, no clear
warning is given to the user.
Alarms
115064
IP-20 Devices:
Some alarms raised on a specific service
have a wrong ifIndex and are considered by
NetMaster to be service affecting for all
services (TDM/Ethernet) that are passing
through the device.
Services
138493
Deletion of a service from a device via the
EMS should be avoided because although the
NetMasters Re-Apply restores the
configuration on the device, it may also lead
to alarms being generated by the device.
127444
Display and deletion of multiple links between
devices that are suspect is not handled
properly.
94439
When managing IP-10 devices the Flow
Domain Navigator is not updated with
changes to the device protection
configuration.
Following changes to a devices
protection configuration, delete
the device from NetMaster and
then Discover and Manage the
device again.
110382
When creating an Ethernet service, there are
rare occasions in which a loss of connection
with the server error occurs.
Continue or repeat the Ethernet
service creation procedure. On
very rare occasions, the client
loses the connection to the server
for very short periods, but it will
eventually recover the
connection.
84637
For Ethernet services on XPAND-IP devices,
on extremely rare occasions the operational
state shown in the Ethernet Service view and
Ethernet Service Ports view are different.
Reconcile the device.
110614
The Flow Domain port marking (UNI / NNI) for
ports of IP-10 devices is sometimes wrong
when the Flow Domain is divided into two due
to the removal of a topological link.
104930
Selections in Ethernet Topology view are not
shown in Flow Domain Navigator.

Failure in Creating a Protected TDM Service
over an STM-1 User Link where the STM-1
card is in an STM-1 Protection Group and
there is a mismatch in configuration between
the two cards (the protection mismatch alarm
has been raised). The received error
message does not explain the cause of the
failure.
Using the EMS, perform a copyto-mate operation manually to
align the configuration of both
cards.
137913
For TDM Services created on NetMaster
using a software version prior to R14A04
which are connected via STM-1 user links:
Following upgrade to R14A04 and following
the addition of the STM-1 User Links, the
operational states of the services are broken.
Delete these services from the
NetMaster database and allow
NetMaster to discover them
again.
138056
Deleting, Editing or Re-Applying a 1+1 TDM
protected service configured on an STM-1
card will fail unless the STM-1 card is first
disabled.
Note: Reconcile should always be
performed before a creation of a
service to ensure that the
NetMaster has the updated
information from the devices
containing the STM-1 card.
83867
Sometimes links in geographical and logical
maps are not colored according to their most
severe alarm.
Refresh the map manually

opening the logical map view.

Description
110440
For a device that is already included in an
S-Vlan Flow Domain, if a device port
configuration is changed via the Web EMS,
changing it from S-Vlan to C-Vlan, NetMaster
wrongly tries to configure this port when
creating new services. Since this operation
will fail, a partial configuration is left on the
device.
110660
Following an upgrade of NetMaster from
Release 13B00 or 13C00 to Release 14A01,

This timing mode has no meaning

In mixed networks where some devices are
working with HTTPS while others are working
with HTTP, running two manage processes
simultaneously, in the same IP range but with
different connection templates results in
some Lost Contact and HTTP Logon
Failure alarms being raised.
Run the manage process with the
HTTPS Connection Template and
then, when this process has
completed, run it again with the
HTTP Connection Template.
127473
When the HTTP protocol is set in the
Connection Template, the username and
password credentials are exposed in
communication with IP-20 devices, even if
the IP-20 device itself is configured for
HTTPS.
Configure the Connection
Template to be HTTPS when there
are devices that are using HTTPS
protocol. In a mixed network, use
different usernames and
passwords for the devices that are
using HTTPS than for those using
HTTP. This ensures that the
username and password of the
secured devices is not exposed in
the network communication.
