Motor Vehicles ~Stage carriages ~ Revision of fares in Tamil Nadu under Section 67(1) (i) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 ~ Ordered. ORDER: In the Government orders read above, revision of fares for stage carriages in Tamil Nadu was ordered for various categories of services. Since then, there has been considerable hike in the prices of oll and petroleum ‘products. The cost of spares and accessories of motor perreles has also increased. There Is considerable increase in the operational expenses of bus transportation in the State, necessitating tps eevigon of bus fare structure. The Government, after considering the matter in detail, have decided to revise bus fare structure In respect of the following categories:~ 1) Chennai Metropolitan area. 2) Chennai Metropolitan area Volvo Coaches. 3) City and Town Services, other than Chennai Metropolitan area. 4) Stage carriages Ordinary Services. 5) Stage carriages Express Services. 2. Accordingly, five notifications are appended to this order. They will be published in an extraordinary issue of Tamil Nadu Government Gazette dated 17.11.2011. Mav ensettaa Kho mam g sCTION OFFICER 17) 1) 10 1 NOTIFICATION - I In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (i) of sub-section (1) section 67 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988) and in supersession of the Home Department Notification No. 11(2)HO/267(c-1)/2007 published at page 1-2 of Part II Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No. 130, dated 23 May 2007 the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following direction to the State Transport Authority, Tamil Nadu and the Regional Transport Authorities regarding the fixation of fares for stage carriages plying as Metropolitan services in Chennai Metropolitan area in the State of Tamil Nadu. 2. The notification hereby issued shall come into force on the 18" November, 2011. DIRECTION ‘The fares for the stage carriages plying as Metropolitan services in Chennai Metropolitan area on routes/ areas in the State of Tamil . Nadu shall not exceed the fares calculated at rates given in the table below:- . Stage Fares q@) (2) Rs. In respect of limited stop services/ point to point services wherever they are operated, a flat charge of 50 paise per ticket shall be collected in addition to the fares fixed in the Table above. 3. If it is expedient to operate Express types of services for the benefit of travelling public, one and a half times of the ordinary fare for such operation shall be charged. 4. In respect of operation of night services two times of the ordinary fare shall be collected. 5. In respect of operation of deluxe services, two times of the limited stop service fare shall be collected. 6. Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No.329, dated 22" November 2007, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following direction to the State Transport Authority, Tamil Nadu and the Regional Transport Authorities regarding the fixation of fares for Air- conditioned Volvo buses plying as Metropolitan services in Chennai Metropolitan area in the State of Tamil Nadu. 2. The notification hereby issued shall come into force on the 18" November, 2011. DIRECTION The fares for the Volvo stage carriages plying as Metropolitan services in Chennai Metropolitan area on routes/ areas in the State of Tamil Nadu shall not exceed the fares calculated at rates given in the table below:- TABLE Stage Fares ul 7 @) (2) Rs. The Notification hereby issued shall come into force on the 18" November, 2011. DIRECTION The fares for the stage carriages plying as “City and Town services” other than in the Chennai Metropolitan area on routes/ areas in the State of Tamil Nadu shall not exceed the fares calculated at rates given in the table below:~ TABLE STAGE Plain i 7 a) Q) Rs. Explanation-I ; “Ghat Road” means a road notified in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette as such by the Government under the Tamil Nadu Traffic Rules, 1938 and indicated in a notice board erected at each end of such road. Navaneteksishness ECTION OFFICER |7 “NN MO jun NOTIFICATION - 1V In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (i) of sub-section (1) section 67 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988) and in supersession of the Home Department Notification No.II (2)/HO/925(a-3)/2001 published at page 4 of Part II Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No.819, dated the 5" December 2001, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following direction to the State Transport Authority, Tamil Nadu and the Regional Transport Authorities regarding the fixation of fares for stage carriages plying as ordinary services in the State of Tamil Nadu. 2. The Notification hereby issued shall come into force on the 18" November, 2011. DIRECTION The fares for the stage carriages plying as "Ordinary Services” on routes/ areas in the State of Tamil Nadu shall not exceed the fares calculated at rates given in the table below:- 1. (i) 42 paise per kilometre on roads in the plain; Provided that for a minimum distance of ten kilometres a fare not exceeding Rs. 5.00 shall be charged, (ii) 47 paise per kilometre on Ghat roads; i Provided that for a minimum distance of six kilometres a fare not exceeding Rs.4.00 Shall be charged. EXPLANATION : “Ghat Road” means a road notified in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette as such by the Government under the Tamil Nadu Traffic Rules, 1938 and indicated in a notice board erected at each end of such road. 2. The fares determined in accordance with the rates specified in paragraph 1 (i) and (ii) above, shall be rounded off to the next higher multiple of 50 paise. Navausetrer Vibe SECTION OFFICER Tw Tinie) NOTIFICATION - V In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (i) of sub-section (1) section 67 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988) and in supersession of the Home Department Notification No. II (2)/HO/925(a-4)/2001, published at page 5 of Part II Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No.819, dated the 5" December 2001, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following direction to the State Transport Authority, Tamil Nadu and the Regional Transport Authorities regarding the fixation of fares for stage carriages plying as Express services in the State of Tamil Nadu. 2. The Notification hereby issued shall come into force on the 18°" November, 2011. 7 DIRECTION The fares for the stage carriages plying as “Express Services” on routes/ areas in the State of Tamil Nadu shall not exceed the fare calculated at rates given below:- 1. Express - Semi deluxe 56 Paise per kilometre on roads in the plains; Provided that for a minimum distance of thirty kilometres a fare not exceeding Rs, 17.00 shall be charged; _ (i) 64 paise per kilometre on the Ghat road; Provided that for a minimum distance of thirty kilometres a fare not exceeding Rs. 20.00 shall be charged; 2. Express Super deluxe (a) 60 paise per kilometre shall be charged if provision is made for a superior class of accommodation for passengers in the stage carriages plying as super deluxe on plain roads; Provided that for a minimum distance of thirty kilometres, a fare not exceeding Rs. 18/- shall be charged. (b) 66 paise per kilometre shall be charged if provision is made for a superior class of accommodation for passengers in the stage carriages plying as super deluxe on ghat roads; Provided that for a minimum distance of thirty kilometres a fare not exceeding Rs. 20.00 on ghat roads shall be charged, 3. Air suspension Coaches (Ultra deluxe) 70 paise per kilometre shall be charged if provision is made for a superior class of accommodation for passengers in the stage carriages plying as Air suspension Coaches (Ultra deluxe) on plain roads. Provided that for a minimum distance of 30 Kilometres, fare not exceeding Rs.21.00 shall be charged. 4. Air-conditioned Coaches 90 paise per kilometre shall be charged if provision is made for a superior class of accommodation for passengers in the stage carriages plying as A/C coaches on plain roads. Provided that for a minimum distance of 30 Kilometres, fare not exceeding Rs.27.00 shall be charged. 5. Air-conditioned Volvo Coaches 110 paise per kilometre shall be charged if provision is made for @ superior class of accommodation for passengers in the stage carriages plying as Volvo type coaches on plain roads. Provided that for a minimum distance of 30 Kilometres, fare not exceeding Rs.33.00 shalll be charged. Explanation :- Ghat road means a road notified in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette as such by the Government under the Tamil Nadu Traffic Rules, 1938 and indicated in a notice board erected at each of ‘such road, 6. The fare determined in accordance with the rates specified in Paragraph 1,2,3,4 and 5 above shall be rounded off to the next higher multiple of Re. 1/-. 7. The reservation charge of Rs. 5/- shall be charged for operation of Express Services of all categories.
