Introduction
The UC-500E Ed. 2 is one of the UC 500
Station Server family products from Efacec,
part of the CLP-500 platform.
UC 500E features an industrial grade
fanless hardware platform, suitable for
harsh environments and targeting minimal
maintenance. It can be deployed in
multiple applications such as distributed
RTUs, DCS plant control systems,
Substation Automation Systems, Station
HMI, Front-end Processors, etc.
UC 500E shares all the common UC 500
software components including the multiprotocol multi-channel gateway with
options for either station IED data
aggregation, connectivity to multiple local
or remote control and management
systems, RTU/telecontrol or gateways or
SCADA front-end processors.
The
built-in
logic
engine,
fully
programmable in IEC 61131-3 languages,

allows further application flexibility, either

as an application-layer gateway and data
processor or as a full automation SoftPLC
controller.
The optional HMI 500 server supports
alarms and events, data historian as well as
multi-client web-based user interface,
featuring advanced 2D vector graphics,
tagging and trending.
The UC 500E is available with pre-installed
software and is fully configurable and
managed through the Efacec Automation
Studio integrated engineering environment
out of the box, hence providing application
flexibility
without
compromising
engineering efficiency.
Designed for open systems and third-party
product integration, UC 500E provides best
integration when deployed in CLP 500
systems.

UC 500E Ed. 2

Overview
The UC-500E is a rack mounted industrial PC. The chassis is designed to meet the EIA 310C 19 rack mount rugged
Industrial PC Chassis, targeted for severe industrial environments. It was designed to isolate all the computer
components from shock, vibration, heat, dust, sprayed water and moisture. The chassis was tested under the conditions
specified in several international standards and it is CE approved. All UC 500E components are labelled, tested and
assembled according to the ISO-9001 standards.
Efacec keeps track of the computer components, from the purchasing till the commissioning and maintenance, in order
to meet the customer and Efacec quality goals.
