WHAT IS TEKTEACH?
TekTeach is a teacher training program
sponsored by TechFactors Inc (TFI)
for all of its partner schools. Through
this program, the teachers of specific
courseware (ICT, English, and Math)
will be more familiarized with the
content and implementation of the
TFI curriculum. The program also
enables teachers to develop their skills
in teaching through various strategies
and technology-integration courses.
GOAL
PROGRAM
The main goal of TekTeach is to provide
teacher development training anchored
on ISTEs Standards for Teachers that are as
follows:
To achieve this goal, our partner teachers
need to undergo three levels of training.
Each level targets the specific needs of the
teachers depending on their:
Facilitate and inspire student learning and
creativity
Design and develop digital age learning
experience and assessment
Model digital age work and learning
Promote and model digital citizenship
and responsibility
Engage in professional growth and
leadership
educational background

TECHNICAL PEDAGOGICAL CONTENT
KNOWLEDGE (TPCK) refers to teacher
knowledge for technology integration tht may
result in enhanced learning outcomes.
PCK
PEDAGOGICAL CONTENT KNOWLEDGE (PCK)
refers to the knowledge of pedagogy that is
applicable to the teaching of specific content;
and
CK
CONTENT KNOWLEDGE (CK) refers to the
body of information that teachers teach and
that students are expected to learn;

PLENARY

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
The talk discusses the place of formative
assessment in light of the K-12 Curriculum. It also
shows how teachers may design effective and
reliable assessments that will monitor students
progress throughout the school year.
GAMIFICATION
The talk explains the core concepts behind
gamification, and how these concepts may help
teachers design innovative and exciting classroom
activities in ICT. Moreover, it presents models in
which gamification is already being done inside the
classroom.
PERSONALITY TRAITS AND
THE SOCIAL MEDIA
The discussion revolves on the impact of social
media on this generations personality traits,
specifically on their attitudes and on their study
habits. It then explains the implications of such
personalities on classroom management and
instruction, and how teachers may adapt to such
personalities.
