Ashika Stock Broking Limited
US market closed higher Monday in low volume trade as traders bought some
recently less-favored sectors, while some top postelection plays lagged. Dow
Jones Industrial Average was up 0.20% or 39.65 points at 19883.06 Nasdaq
Composite was up 0.37% or 20.28 points at 5457.44 Standard &Poor's 500
was up 0.20% or 4.46 points at 2262.53
Indian Equity market inched further lower in a dull session on
Monday, mirroring the last session's move. Banking & financials, auto and
select healthcare stocks drove the market lower but ICICI Bank, Reliance
Industries and ITC arrested the fall. Nifty ended the previous day with a
decline of 0.43% or 35.10 points at 8104.35. On Mondays trading
session, FIIs sold net Rs.535.77 Cr in cash market and sold Rs.243.64 Cr in
derivative segment. Whereas, DII bought net Rs.556.36 Cr in cash segment.
Global News
The Bank of Japan is likely to keep monetary policy steady and give a more
upbeat view of the economy on Tuesday, reinforcing market expectations
that its future policy direction could be an increase - not a cut - in interest
rates. (Reuters)
