Intel Corporation: 1. 1971-4004 Microprocessor
Intel Corporation: 1. 1971-4004 Microprocessor
is a multinational company based in the US and is renowned for the design and
production of microprocessors and specializes in integrated circuits. Intel also
makes network cards, motherboard chipsets, components, and other tools. Intel has
advanced research projects in all aspects of semiconductor production, including
MEMS. Intel to replace the logo and slogan on January 1, 2006. The slogan of the
length of the "Intel inside" is replaced with "Intel Leap ahead".
Advantages:
In some types of processors Intel above has actually been given some explanation
about the advantages of intel in accordance with the specifications. But in general
the Intel processor has enggulan among others:
1. The temperature at Intel can be regulated by its own processor (the processor will
reduce the speed if the processor is too hot.
2. Intel wins on brand image and its market.
3. At the Intel Pentium 4 processor standard price, performance lumanyan fast.
4. Intel's more powerful than AMD porsesor in multimedia applications.
Disadvantages:
Some disadvantages intel processor include:
1. Weak for graphics, gaming and 3D programs when compared with AMD for
example.
2. To use an Intel processor you need a lot of money especially with high
performance that is generated by the Intel i7 Intel processors.
Type:
1. 1971-4004 Microprocessor
In 1971 comes the first Intel microprocessor, which is the forerunner of the
processor i4040. 4 bit processor is planned to be a brain calculator, in the same
year (1971), Intel makes revisions to the i440. Originally commissioned by a
Japanese company to manufacture calculators, it is much more powerful processor
than expected so that Intel bought the rights to the Japanese company for the
development and further research. This is where the forerunner to the development
toward the computer processor.
2. 1972-8008 Microprocessor
In 1972 comes the first 8-bit microprocessor, microprocessor 8008 with a magnitude
of 2 times that of its predecessor the 4004. This processor is somewhat less
preferred because multivoltage, then emerging processor i8080, here there is a
change that is so triple voltage, technology use NMOS (PMOS no longer ), and
introduces the first time the system clock generator (using additional chips),
packaged in the form of Array DIP 40 pins.
3. 1974-8080 Microprocessor
This microprocessor into the brain of a computer called the Altair, when it sold
about ten thousand in one month.
4. 1978-8086-8088 Microprocessor
An important sales in the computer division occurs in the product for personal
computers that use processors made by IBM 8088 which managed to boost the Intel
name. These processors have registers, 16-bit external data bus 16-bit and 20-bit
memory addressing. This processor is also equipped with HMOS technology, 16-bit
bus supporting components are very rare, so the price is very expensive.
5. 1993-Intel Pentium Processor
The new generation of processors that can handle various types of data such as
voice, sound, handwriting and photos.
6. 1995-Intel Pentium Pro Processor
Processor is designed for use on server and workstation applications, created to
process data quickly, this processor has 5.5 Million transistors are embedded.
7. 1997-Intel Pentium II Processor
Pentium II processor is a processor that incorporates Intel MMX is designed
specifically to process video data, audio, and graphics efficiently. There are 7.5
million transistors integrated in it so that with this processor PC users can process a
variety of data and use the internet better.
8. Core i3
Core i3 530 runs at 2.93GHz and has no turbo mode features. Core i3 530 will run at
1.33GHz at the lowest frequency, and not faster than the 2.93GHz at full load. Turbo
boost feature that is missing is a sacrifice, because the 530 still has 4MB of L3
cache shared between the two cores.
