Safety Instructions
Please read the following instructions and notices before using your tablet.
1. Avoid using in extremely hot, cold, dusty, damp or wet environments.
2. The tablet is not moisture/water-resistant. Avoid using the tablet around sources of water.
3. Avoid dropping or forcibly placing the tablet onto a hard surface. This may damage the
screen or internal electronic components.
4. Do not use alcohol, thinner or benzene to clean the surface of the tablet. Use only cleaning
products designed for computer tablet devices.
5. Do not use the tablet while walking or driving.
6. Excessive use of earphones at high volume may lead to hearing impairment.
Limit earphone usage, and adjust the volume to a moderate level when doing so.
7. The images in this manual may vary slightly from the actual product.
8. Charge the tablet battery under any of the following circumstances:
a) Battery level icon indicates low power, by showing a drained, red battery icon.
b) Tablet powers-off automatically, continuing to do so even after restarting.
c) On-screen keys or display does not function properly.
9. Do not suddenly disconnect the tablet when formatting, uploading or downloading data.
This may lead to program errors (e.g., system or screen freezing.)
10. Static discharge in the cable, while it is connected to a computer, may corrupt files or
damage the memory and its content.
11. Dismantling the tablet will void the manufacturers warranty. If you are experiencing
problems, review the FAQ section of this manual.
12. Tablet functions, hardware, software, and warranty information may be revised by the
manufacturer or their respective owners, and subject to change without notice.
13. Warning: This product may contain a chemical known to the State of California to cause
cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

Press and hold to turn off. Slide down to shut off the tablet.

The built-in storage card reader slot supports an optional MicroSD memory card for
additional storage.

OFF: Press and hold the side Power button. When prompted, slide finger downward to shut
off the tablet.
STANDBY MODE: While the Tablet is on, press the side Power button quickly to turn off the
display only. The Tablet will enter a sleep mode which minimizes some of the battery functions
(turn off completely to avoid unnecessary battery drainage). Press the Power button quickly to
wake from sleep mode to use the Tablet immediately.
NOTE 1: Another way to access Power, Shut Down, or Update and Restart, is to swipe
left from the right edge of the screen then tap the Settings charm.
NOTE 2: Should you require to RESET the tablet, press and hold Power button for
10 sec. Press again to turn on.
To choose or change a password, swipe your finger inward at the right edge of the screen to
display the Charm Menu. When a password is required you must choose one to sign in.
Open the Settings charm, then tap (or click) PC Settings > Accounts > Sign-In Options
To charge the tablet, plug the micro USB end of the included USB cable into the top of the tablet,
in the slot marked USB (1). Connect the other end of the cable to the AC adapter (2), and plug
the AC adapter into a wall outlet (3). If the tablet is on, the battery icon will pulse, showing that it
is being charged. It is fully charged when an icon of a full battery is displayed on the screen.
When the tablet is on, the battery status icon will pulse showing that is being charged. It is
fully charged when the icon of a full battery is displayed on screen. It is normal for the tablet
to be warm to the touch as it is being charged or during general use.
NOTE 1: The large capacity battery charges completely between 4- 5 hours.
NOTE 2: To charge a Bluetooth keyboard, connect it to the USB input on the tablet which must
be powered ON. If the tablet is in Standby mode or OFF, the keyboard will not charge.
Battery Care
Operating temperature: Your Tablet is designed to function between 32F and 95F (or 0C to
35C). Lithium-polymer batteries are sensitive to higher temperatures, so keep your Tablet out of
direct sun light and dont leave it in a closed environment susceptible to extreme temperatures
(ie: such as in a vehicle).

Basic Operation
Start Screen, Tiles, and Apps
The Start menu screen is where you access everything on your Tablet and search the web.
Its where you check your email, and open applications. Live tiles provide you with the latest
news & weather, sporting events, and more. These colorful tiles also alert you with display
notices including messages and announcements.
Traditional Desktop
The Desktop is where File Explorer, and other folders are located. To access it, find the tile in the
Start Menu. When using most Windows-compatible keyboard press the Windows Home key + the
D key (refer to your keyboard user manual).
NOTE 1: When Office 365 Personal is activated you will find the Apps in the Apps Menu.
See page 21 to add to your tiles or Desktop task bar.

Portrait Mode
When rotating your Tablet the screen content adjusts automatically to the proper position,
either in portrait or landscape modes.
Swipe the left edge: Switch between open apps by swiping inward from the left edge of the
screen. Every time you swipe, you switch to another open app.
To switch to a specific open app, swipe inward from the left edge and with your finger still on
the touchscreen, move it back towards the left edge. Then tap on the desired app.

Pinch to Zoom: In certain apps (such as Maps, Browser, and Gallery), you can zoom in and out
by placing two fingers on the screen at once. Pinch together to zoom out and spread them apart
to zoom in.
Slide Downward
Swipe downward from top edge: To access app commands.
Search files, App programs and everything on the web or type in the search box.
Open a particular file, photo, or website you wish to share using the Share charm.
Swipe inward from the right edge of the screen and tap (or click) Settings > Share.
To post on a social media site, tap (or click) People. To read a page later, tap (or click)
Reading List. To email a link, tap (or click) Mail To share a screenshot, tap (or click)

Open the Start Menu screen. You can also use this function to return to the application
program last opened.
Connect an external screen or printer to the Tablet PC. Or access other PC setting
options including the Control Panel, Activate Windows, Set the Time, Updates and
Recovery.
Personalize and set up the Tablet through a custom adjustment of settings.

Launching Apps
Press the
Start button to access and launch Apps on the Tablet. Swipe inward from the left
edge of the screen to view open apps; swipe inward from the right edge of the screen to access
the Charm menu to Search, Share, view todays Date & Time, Battery level or to access Settings.
In order to move an app from the App Menu to the Home Screen, touch and hold the App. Then
drag it to the desired screen. To remove it, touch and hold the App, then drag it to the Remove
icon at the top of the screen.
Apps Menu
To display the menu of all apps found on your Tablet, tap and slide your finger upward from
anywhere below the Start Menu tiles until the Apps Menu appears. Type the name or scroll (up,
down, right) to view desired apps as there are multiple menus. To add (or pin) an app to the Start
screen, tap and hold for two (2) seconds. A checkmark will appear next to the app. To unpin from
Start or uninstall, use the same process, then uncheck.
To return to the Start Menu and dismiss the Apps Menu, tap and slide your finger downward from
the top of the screen.

To display two apps together side-by-side swipe an open app inward from the left edge, drag it
and hold. Release to one side. A dual screen interface will appear to place the second application.
To change one of the apps, go to Start Menu or the Apps view and tap (or click) on an app. It will
appear on top of the first two apps.
To undo the dual screen tap the middle partition line and drag to the right or left edge.

Built-In Apps
Skype and Contacts
OneDrive is an online cloud storage that comes with 15GB when you create your Microsoft
account. Save documents, photos, music, movies and other files on OneDrive. They are available
from any web-connected device including your Tablet to use and share with others.
Add files to your OneDrive then access them from your Tablet.
1. Go to the computer with the files that you want to copy to the Tablet.
2. Go to OneDrive.com and upload the files.
3. To access your files once uploaded, from the Start screen tap on OneDrive.
Then navigate accordingly.
Follow directions through the Initial Set-Up Wizard when you first turn on the tablet. You will be
directed to select your region, language, Wi-Fi connection, and set up your Microsoft account. If
you need to create and set up an account the Set-Up Wizard will walk you through the process.
As part of your subscription you may add a PC or Mac to your account and access Office 365
Personal from your computer. Go to office.com/my account. Sign in, download, and install the
Office software to the computer. It will automatically be added to your account.
Use the Mail app to read and reply to email messages from all of your accounts. You can add
Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo, AOL and Exchange email accounts to the app. To add an email
account: At the Start Menu screen, tap (or click) Mail. Swipe inward from the right edge of the
screen and open the Settings charm. Tap Accounts > Add an Account
People
The People app is your address book and social app. When connected with your social media
accounts you will get updates, tweets, photos, and more. In addition, you can make comments or
retweet without switching apps. To add contacts: At the Start Menu screen, tap (or click) People.
Swipe inward from the right edge of the screen and open the Settings charm. Tap (or click)
OneNote
OneNote syncs with OneDrive, your personal cloud account, so you can view, update, and
organize all of your notes, photos, files, and sketches. Share group notebooks to collaborate
anywhere. Everything is saved automatically.
Maps
Search Maps and get directions based on your current location or view traffic one the highway
before you begin your commute or family vacation.

Calendar
Combine most of your calendars into the Calendar app so that reminders and notifications about
events and scheduled appointments are not missed. You must have a Microsoft account.
Music
Open the Music app to play music youve downloaded to your Tablet. In addition, you can
purchase or stream from an extensive library of music only found at the Xbox Music Store.
Discover new music specific to your musical taste by creating radio stations based on your
favorite artists. To create a radio station tap (or click) Radio > Create New Station
Note: An Xbox Music account is required. Data charges, features and content may vary.
Video
Watch home movies or rent TV shows and movies from the Xbox Video Store. The Video app
features Instant-On streaming to view your program immediately and in high definition.
Camera
Open the Camera app to take unique photos and video movies. Simply swipe down from top
edge of the screen to view options including settings for timer, exposure, and switching between
the front and rear camera.

Photos
Open the Photos app to view all of your video and camera roll files and folders on your tablet.
You can edit and adjust color tones and effects. Swipe down from top edge of the screen and
tap Edit.
Import photos from your camera, phone, flash drive or TF memory card or share photos stored
on your Tablet. Open the Photos app and select photos you wish to share. Swipe down (or rightclick) to select then open the Share charm.
Xbox Games
Discover the latest Xbox games made for Windows 8.1 and then see which of your friends and
family are online and what games they are playing.
Stock Market
Get the latest financial news, check your stocks and create watch lists. With My Finance you
can track all of your investment accounts in one place.

Camera app: Swipe to the right to view recent photos and videos. You can also swipe down
from the top edge of the screen, and then tap Camera Roll.
Photos, File Explorer, or the OneDrive app:
Go to the Pictures folder, and then to the Camera Roll
Make automatic corrections through the Photos app. Experiment with lighting and color
adjustments, effects, cropping and rotation.
1. Open a photo in the Camera, Photos, or the OneDrive app.
2. Swipe down from the top edge of the screen.
3. Tap Edit.
4. Choose auto and basic fixes, light and color adjustments, and effects.
5. Swipe down from the top edge to save your changes.

NOTE: Only devices that have been designed for Windows 8.1 work properly out of
the box or installs to the Tablet automatically with the necessary software. Some older
devices may not be compatible.

Press the Start key to access the Start Menu, then drag your finger upward to access the
Apps Menu.
Swipe your finger to access the additional App screen to the right.

You can pin Office programs to the Start Menu in the form of tiles or pin to the Task Bar on the
Desktop. Press and hold a program, then drag to pin to the Start Menu or Task Bar.
To place Office icons on your Desktop, tap Open File Location.
Reduce the screen (as shown) so that the Desktop is exposed then drag and drop your selection
of files onto the Desktop.

Add a Printer
To add a printer, swipe inward from the left side of screen, tap (or click) Settings > Control
The Windows Store has all the apps youre looking for. Start searching for apps in top categories
such as games, entertainment, music, sports, eBooks, News, Food & Dining, Travel, business
and more.
Once you have signed up for a Microsoft account, you can download and install apps from the
Windows Store. From the Windows Store app, open the Settings charm and tap (or click) Your
Account to add a method of payment. To acquire apps, tap (or click) the Store tile and sign in.

Installing Programs
You can download and install applications from the Windows Store, or from other trusted
publisher, a CD/DVD from an external device, and from your home or business network. Most
programs written for Windows 7 will also work with Windows 8 however some older programs
may run poorly or not at all.
Deleting Apps
Should you wish to remove an app, you can uninstall it. Go to the Start Menu and swipe up from
the center of the screen to access the Apps Menu. Then tap and hold the app you wish to delete
for 2-3 seconds. Options will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap UNINSTALL
Reinstall Apps
To reinstall purchased apps that were once deleted, (and if still available in the Windows Store):
1. Open the Windows Store tile and sign in.
2. Swipe down from top of the screen, tap Your Apps.
3. Tap the app you wish to install, then Install.
View Downloads
To view downloads, use the Search box and type in Search Downloads. Tap on the selected
file to view.

Change the appearance of the Desktop and lock screen. Swipe inward from the right edge of
the display then open Settings > Personalization. Choose from several themes and desktop
colors, backgrounds, and sounds. Create tiles for your favorite websites and contacts or rearrange,
resize, unpin, and group tiles.
Take Screenshots
Tablet: Hold down the
Windows Start Menu button, then simultaneously hold down the
volume down button. The screen will dim for a moment. To access, open the Start Menu and
tap the Photos app. You will see a folder called Screenshots where all screenshot photos will
automatically be placed.

Settings
Change PC Settings
Changing settings is easy on your Tablet. Most settings you may wish to change are found in
PC Settings. Some of these are displayed after you open the Settings charm. Then tap Change
PC Settings or type into the Search box.
Control Panel
To access the Control Panel, swipe inward from the right edge of the screen and tap the Settings
charm > Change PC Settings. Locate the Control Panel at bottom left of screen and tap to
access in order to adjust your tablet/computer settings.
PC and Devices
Personalize your devices display, Bluetooth settings, lock screen, power saver controls, and more.
Managing Accounts
Sign in with a Microsoft account to access email, photos, files and settings on all of your devices.
To manage your user accounts open the Settings charm, then Change PC Settings > Accounts
> Other Accounts or from the Control Panel > User Accounts.
Password Disk
Insert your removable media (such as a thumb or external drive).
Press the
Start button then swipe inward from the right edge of the screen to access the
Charm menu > Settings. Tap (or click) Control Panel >User Accounts and Family Safety,

and then User Accounts In the left pane, tap (or click)Create a password reset disk, and
follow the instructions.
NOTE: Make sure you store the Password Reset disk or drive is kept in a safe place.
Create a PIN
Instead of using a password you may create a simple 4 digit PIN number. Open the Settings
charm, then tap (or click) PC Settings > Accounts > Sign-In Options. Under PIN tap Add,
type in your current password, choose OK, then type in your 4 digit PIN numbers.
OneDrive
Once you sign in with your Microsoft account, you can save files to the OneDrive personal cloud
service. 15GB of cloud storage is available for free.
Privacy
Manage and personalize your privacy options.
Network
Access and manage your network for wireless connectivity to the internet.
Ease of Access
Using Narrator, Microsofts voice screen reader you can set up to hear text and controls. In
addition you can make adjustments to visual, touchscreen and mouse /keyboard functions.

Basic Recovery
Creating a Backup
Using File History, you can back up files on to an external or network drive, including all of your
Music, Videos, Photos, Documents, Spreadsheets and Desktop folders.
Settings > Update and Recovery > Recovery. Under Refresh Your PC without Affecting
Your Files, tap Get Started > Next > Refresh
Restoring your Tablet will return it back to an earlier timeframe. It will not change your personal
files however it may remove apps and drivers that were recently installed. Make certain you have
your product keys and installation files for all desktop apps that may have been installed recently
Swipe inward from the right edge of the screen. Open the Search and type in Control Panel.
Enter Recovery in the Control Panel search box, then tap Recovery > Open System Restore.
A factory reset reinstalls Windows but deletes your files, settings and apps downloaded from
the Windows Store. To reset the Tablet back to its original Factory Default settings:Swipe inward
from the right edge of the screen. Open the Settings charm then tap Change PC Settings >
Update and Recovery > Recovery. Under Remove Everything and Reinstall Windows, tap
Get Started > Next > then either Just Remove My Files or Fully Clean the Drive > Reset
(this will take several minutes to perform).

Limited Warranty
One Year Limited Warranty
TMAX Digital Inc. warrants this NuVision product against defects in material or workmanship for
a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase (Limited Warranty period), and at its
own option, to either (a) repair your product with new or refurbished parts, or (b) replace it with
a new or a refurbished product. TMAX Digital Inc. will incur no liability whatsoever to provide
packaging for warranty items. Upon receipt of the warrantied item, should it be determined that
the packaging is insufficient, TMAX Digital Inc may at its discretion, void the warranty. You are
responsible for the transportation cost to TMAX Digital Inc. A nominal handling fee does apply.
You must receive a return authorization number before sending a unit in for service.
Customer Data:
Customer shall be solely responsible for maintaining backup data necessary to replace Customer
data lost or damaged from any cause.
This warranty is effective only if the product was purchased through an Authorized Retail Seller
and the unit is operated in North America. You are responsible for all tariffs and taxes imposed
to ship or receive warranty or replacement units to and from the U.S. Warranty extends only to
defects in materials or workmanship and does not extend to any other products that have been
lost, discarded or damaged by misuse, accident, neglect, acts of God, such as lightning, improper
installation, improper maintenance or modification. The Limited Warranty ALSO DOES NOT
COVER damages of having been previously altered, modified, repaired or serviced by anyone
other than the service facilities authorized by TMAX Digital Inc. to render such services. Warranty
does not cover cosmetic damage or lost accessories.
This warranty gives you specific rights and these rights may vary from state to state. Some states
do not allow limitation on how long the warranty lasts or exclusions or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.
