Types of Failures in Rigid Pavements - Causes and Repair Techniques

There are several types of failures that can occur in rigid pavements, including joint spalling, faulting, polished aggregates, shrinkage cracking, pumping, punch outs, linear cracking, and durability cracking. These failures are caused by factors like excessive stress, poor construction techniques, traffic loads, foundation issues, temperature changes, and freezing/thawing. Repair techniques depend on the specific failure but may include sealing joints, replacing slabs, or repairing cracks.
