Current Issues Rap Song Rubric

Current Issues

Guidelines: For this project you will be writing a song/rap about global issues (you can include some domestic
issues too). Follow the instructions below.

1. Pick a song/beat to base your rap/song off


2. Brainstorm topics/issues/solutions/options staying on the topic of Global Issues
3. Write a song/rap with 2 verses and 1 chorus
4. It needs to be creative, rhyme, and be relevant to topics of current issues. It can address an issue(s) that
weve discussed OR other topics that we didnt have time for this quarter. Lyrics can include what the
problems are and solutions.
5. Final draft needs to have the following
a. Clever Title
b. Typed in a Poem/song lyrics format
c. On the back, include a typed (1 paragraph) rationale as to why you wrote the song and what
overall message it should send to its listeners.
d. You will be reading/singing it to the class - - PRACTICE!
