The classroom achieved 85 total steps towards a goal of 100, reaching 85% of their goal. 76% of students grew by 3 or more steps, equivalent to a year of reading growth. On average, students in the Vermont classroom grew 0.9 steps between each benchmark period, outperforming the average growth of students in other first grade classrooms. By the end of the year, the percentage of students reading below grade level decreased by 30% while the percentage of students reading at or above grade level increased.
