To whom it may concern:
I am pleased to recommend Ms. Kelly Morrison to you as a potential externship candidate. I am one of
Ms. Morrisons faculty instructors while she has been enrolled in the Baccalaureate Nursing Program at
the University of Arizona. To date, Ms. Morrison has provided excellent care for her patients during her
clinical rotation and she has been a very conscientious and diligent student. She has started to integrate
theory into clinical practice at the bedside, therefore enhancing both her academic and clinical
performance. She has maintained a very high GPA and has received many honors and awards for her
academic performance.
Some of the strengths that Ms. Morrison possesses are her ability to be very compassionate with
patients, critically think through situations and prioritize care for patients. She presents very
professional in appearance, and has good written as well as verbal communication skills. She eagerly
accepts challenging situations, works diligently in preparing for the classroom and clinical, and is self-
directed. In addition, she quickly acquires new skills and once mastered she is self motivated to learn
more. She fully accepts the responsibility of advocating on behalf of patients and their families. She has
done numerous volunteer services within the hospital and out in the community, which helps to enrich
her well rounded character and personality.
I support Ms. Morrisons application for a scholarship candidate. I believe that if she is able to pursue
her education, she will make significant contributions to the nursing profession. She has proven to be
very mature, a team player and supportive of others. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have
questions regarding her qualifications.
Sincerely,
Linda Perez, RNC
