Abstract
Photoshop is unlike other common software interfaces which emulate virtual typewriters or graphing
paper. Photoshop creates an artist's virtual studio/darkroom. When you open the program you see a
toolbox on the left with tools you will use to manipulate your images, and on the right, a white square
which is your "canvas" or work area. The gray area surrounding the canvas is not part of your image,
but only defines its edges. Photoshop works on a system of layers, which are like sheets of
transparency. When you place objects on a layer, they become part of the layer, just as if you had drawn
on a transparency with a marker. If two objects are on the same layer and you want to move them closer
to each other, you need to cut them out with the lasso or marquee tool and physically move them
together. If they are on different transparent layers, however, all you have to do is move the layers with
the move tool until the objects are closer to each other. Photoshop files are made up of tiny squares of
color called pixels. Using large pixels will make a grainy image, and using tiny pixels to make the same
image will be much smoother. However, the smaller the pixels, the more of them there are in the file,
and the larger the file size will be. If the file size is large, it opens slower, takes longer to save, and takes
up more room on a disk. The the key in choosing a resolution is finding the balance between image
quality and file size.
Introduction
In this presentation, we are using the Adobe Photoshop software to make header of an advertisement. In
this case, we are promoting Sultan Idris Education University. Photoshop is very useful in making and
editing pictures into better ones. By taking full advantage of this software, we decided to make better
and attractive advertisement. While experimenting Adobe Photoshop, we discovered a few advantages
and disadvantages of this software.
The advantages are the organization; with Adobe Photoshop, one can quickly and easily import videos
and photos into the software. Once imported, everything is neatly organized on the screen. This makes
it easy to handle numerous videos and photos. Additionally, the proper organization of the workspace
makes it easy to find editing tools and other features. Secondly, it is quick editing; most of the edits
regularly done on photos can be completed with a single click. For example, it is possible to
automatically whiten teeth or reduce red eye with the simple click of a button. On top of that, no
professional training is needed to complete complex tasks like adjusting skin tone.
On the other hand, the disadvantages are it is very costly; the main disadvantage of Adobe Photoshop is
its high price tag. Adobe Photoshop costs much more than most of the other photo-editing software. If
you do not plan on using the software professionally, it is not worth the high cost. Last but not least, this
software is not for the novice user; despite the fact that its quick-edit features are simple to use, this
software was not built for the novice user. It is photo-editing software designed for professionals who
edit photos regularly.

Discussion:
Photoshop Tools: Upon loading Photoshop, a sidebar with a variety of tools with multiple
image-editing functions appears to the left of the screen. These tools typically fall under the
categories of drawing; painting; measuring and navigation; selection; typing; and retouching.
1)Pen tool
Photoshop includes a few versions of the pen tool. The pen tool creates precise paths that can
be manipulated using anchor points.
2)Clone Stamp Tool
The Clone Stamp tool duplicates one part of an image to another part of the same image by
way of a brush. The duplication is either in full or in part depending on the mode.
3)Shape tools
Photoshop provides an array of shape tools including rectangles, rounded rectangles, ellipses,
polygons and lines.
4)Measuring and navigation
The eyedropper tool selects a color from an area of the image that is clicked, and samples it for
future use.
5)Selection tools-
Selection tools are used to select all or any part of a picture to perform cut, copy, edit, or
retouching operations.
6)Cropping
The crop tool can be used to select a particular area of an image and discard the portions
outside the chosen section.
7)Slicing
The slice select tools, like the crop tool, are used in isolating parts of images.
8)Moving
The move tool can be used to drag the entirety of a single layer or more if they are selected.
9)Marquee
The marquee is a tool that can make selections that are single row, single column, rectangular
and elliptical.
10)Lasso
The lasso tool is similar to the "marquee" tool, however, the user can make a custom selection
by drawing it freehand.
11)Magic wand
The magic wand tool selects areas based on pixels of similar values. One click will select all
neighboring pixels of similar value within a tolerance level set by the user.
12)Eraser
The Eraser tool erases content based on the active layer. If the user is on the text layer, then any
text across which the tool is dragged will be erased. The eraser will convert the pixels to
transparent, unless the background layer is selected.

Requiring Photoshop version 14.1 or later, users can create and edit designs for 3D printing.
After downloading 3D photo models from numerous online services, users can add color,
