1. Diagnose and rectify engine difficult to start
Brief description of work carried out and recommendations for repair:
1) Safety step carry out
-Place the car on a straight surface
-Disconnect the negative terminal
-Wait for engine to cool down
-Make sure there is no interference while working
-Use jacks which were in good condition
2) Tools/equipment use and preparation
-Scan tool, connect the scan tool from the car via cable through laptop (Follow instruction from service manual)
-Combination spanner & socket box
-Safety jacks
3) Fault, Symptoms and Possible cause

4) Brief on work process (step) carry out (Refer to pg5-6)
-Firstly check the battery voltage then move on the fuse and relay
-After that verify the fuel pressure before moving to fuel pump and its relay
-Check the starter motor and its relay
-Ensure check on spark plug and also the coils before checking the crankshaft position sensor
-Check the wiring and lastly further inspect on the ECM.

5) Test measurement , result and manufacture specification (Refer to pg7)
6) Confirmation on fault
-After testing and comparing it to the manufacture spec I have confirm that the fault is fuel filter integrated with
Pressure regulator
7) Verification and evaluation process on fault rectify
- I visual checked the fuse of the fuel pump.
- Then I checked the voltage of the fuel pump relay.
- After that by using a fuel pressure gauge I check the pressure.
Recommendations for repair
I recommend the customer to change the fuel filter integrated with pressure regulator so that the car wont have
difficulties on starting
