Analytical Chemistry Exam Guide

This document contains questions regarding electromagnetic radiation, UV/VIS spectroscopy, and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. It asks the student to: [1] 1) Calculate missing frequencies and wavelengths in a table and identify the corresponding type of electromagnetic radiation. [2] 2) State steps to prepare a sample for UV/VIS analysis and properties of complexing reagents used. 3) Identify characteristics that make a molecule suitable for IR analysis, give examples of its use, and describe steps to prepare a solid sample for IR analysis using NaCl plates.
