GRADUATION PROJECT
TOXIC GAS DETECTING SYSTEM
ABSTRACT
Human health is very important, that is why we decided on creating a robot
that detects harmful gases, which will allow people to avoid getting close tp
hazardous areas.
HOW WILL IT WORK
The toxic gas detecting robot will be patrolling and detecting whether harmful
substances are present in the air, if it finds any a red LED will light, the buzzer
will sound and it can be monitored by an app continously will be sent to
whoever we link and if it detects nothing a green LED will light. Our model will
utilize pre-existing parts like sensors, alarms and tires, and the project will be
mainly available in places that are either crowded or vulnerable gas
leakages, such as malls, schools, apartments/hotels and industrial areas.
MATERIAL COMPONENTS
Arduino Uno
Gas sensor
STEPS TAKEN
1-Wiring everything and checking if everything is functional
2- Preparing the model to support everything
3- Moving Everything
4- Finishing Touches
Connections
FONA RX -> PIN 3FONA
TX -> PIN 4FONA PS ->
PIN 6 (POWER STATE
PIN. IT IS HIGH WHEN
THE FONA IS ON, AND
LOW WITH THE FONA
IS OFF)FONA KEY ->
PIN 7 (PULL THIS PIN
LOW FOR 2 SECONDS
AND THE FONA WILL
TURN OFF/ON)
DIFFICULTIES FACED
The first model was too small and could not fit everything
FabLab partnership became a disaster
Being introduced to a new programming language (Arduino)
First time to actually work in a project that requires in-depth technical
knowledge.
Time constraint (most work is in breaks)
