to observe various science related topics including astronomy,
natural habitats, and many traveling exhibits.

Itinerary: 9 am Bus arrives and picks up students from Travis Middle School
9:30 am Students arrive to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science
9:45 am Students begin tour of the Universal Hall
10:20 am Watch Wonders of Arctic 3D
11;00 am Students take a break in the Moody Family Childrens Museum
11:25 am Lyda Hills Gems and Mineral Hall
11:55 am Lunch at the Cafe (sacks or buy lunch with personal money)
12:30 pm Watch Journey to Space 3D at Theatre
1:00 pm Students then attend Discovering Life Hall
1:30 pm Bus picks up students.
2:00 pm Students arrive back at Travis Middle School

(4) Develop a rich knowledge of the science and natural world.
The student is expected to :
(A) Identify events in altering Earth systems;
(B) Students will illustrate how Earth features change over
time by plate tectonics.
Objectives:
Students will be able to identify the various planets and characteristics of the solar system.
Students will understand the importance of astronomy and how the space environments affects
the Earths environment. Students will learn the origins of space matter and how that is evolved
to create planets known today.
1st Assignment (BEFORE TRIP):
Students will do extensive research on a planet of their choosing. They will take this research
and prepare a poster (or essay) on the history and facts regarding the planet. This will be
presented to the entire classroom.
2nd Assignment (DURING TRIP):
Students will receive journals in which they will make scientific observations and note what new
facts and information they have learned and hope to learn.
3rd Assignment (AFTER TRIP):
After they return, the students will write an essay detailing what future opportunities they would
like to experience in the field of science after touring the museum. This essay should include
references to what they have newly learned in the museum and why they would like to pursue
this career.
