Written Justifications

YMCA LOGO- The YMCA logo is to represent one of the first communities I was a part of at

the Downey YMCA. I have taken classes and participated in different activities there from when

I was three till today. My family and I are active members there and I plan to one day become an

employee there before I go to college.

BOOK- I put a picture of a book on my canva to represent the fact that a large part of my life has

been and still is being a student.

DOWNTOWN L.A.- The picture of downtown Los Angeles shows where I live and the largest

community I am a part of, much bigger than Downey.

FAMILY- My family was my first community and probably the most influential to me and my

future. In the photo is my mom, dad, and two younger sisters.

CHRISTINA ROSALES- Christina is the girl in the blue graduation gown. She is my best friend

and has been for as long as I can remember. I used her picture to answer the question of my

friends.

BALLET SHOES- The ballet shoes are meant to represent my love and participation in dance,

which was mainly at the YMCA. Though I dont dance ballet, I felt it showed my point well.
PARENTS- My parents are my role models and an important part, at least to me, in every

community I have been a part of so far. They pay for my schooling, allow me to go to the

YMCA, and encourage me to try new thing.

GRADUATION CAP & UNIVERSITY- These two pictures both stand for the same thing, my

plan to graduate high school, attend a university, and then graduate from there. In other words,

my plan for the future of my schooling.

KIDS AT DECATHLON MEET- The final picture I added was a picture of part of my team and

I at the day of our Academic Decathlon meet in 2017. My decathlon team/community was one

that largely impacted me in my study habits and I will never forget my time and participation

there.
