CSS XBand and OTHR Radars

Raytheon Anschütz provides maritime surveillance systems using X-band radar, over-the-horizon radar, and automatic identification system technologies. These systems integrate data from multiple sensors for enhanced situational awareness and command and control. Raytheon Anschtz Maritime Surveillance Systems are based on optimised Pathfinder MK 2 state-
of-the-art radar technology and Raytheon Canadas Maritime Small Target Tracker (MSTT). The MK
2 radar X-Band configuration is the core sensor from nearfield to the horizon at 20 - 30 miles. It pro-
vides the system with both a regular radar video and a specifically processed small target tracks.
Over-The-Horizon-Radars (OTHR) cover the entire EEZ up to 100 miles or even more. It is integrated
by using a Raytheon tracker as well.

Command & Control is an integrated track management and display system combining high per-
formance radar, private transponders, AIS transponders, day/night cameras, direction finders, me-
teorological and hydrographic sensors, underwater acoustic
sensors and local and remote electronic chart displays.

Radar/trackers, however, are the fundamental system for cre-


ating a recognized maritime picture. Other sensors or assets
can be quickly directed to the tracks generated by the radar/
tracker for classification and identification purposes.

Small false alarm rates lead to a veritable decision support


system.

The Raytheon Anschtz MK2 X-Band radar is especial-


ly suited for surveillance purposes in fixed land instal-
lations. It is an very sensitive radar capable to detect
tiny targets such as small buoys or wooden stakes. The
surveillance application is cosiderably enhanced by the
optional use of Raytheons Maritime Small Target Tra-
cker (MSTT).

With state-of-the-art digital control including features


like automatic tuning, sector blanking (up to 8 sectors),
built-in test and monitoring capabilities, the transceiver
is ideal for remote, unmanned sites. Raytheons inno-
vative receiver design and a high dynamic range (130
db) grants excellent performance.
