To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to express my interest in being a Subject Tutor with UT-Texas Athletics. I learned of this opportunity
through the posting on the hire a longhorn webpage through the University of Texas. I am a senior at UT Austin and am
planning on graduating in December with a B.A in economics and a minor in music. I have not had professional
experience in tutoring, but I often coordinate with my peers in my classes during the semester to learn and to teach class
material. My dream is to become a professor, and so I would be thrilled to have this opportunity as I strive to learn more
about working with college students.

For the past two years I have been a litigation intern at Flahive, Ogden, and Latson, a workers compensation law firm. I
collaborate with many legal employees, both staff and attorneys, to process and to try cases. Assisting these employees
and the firms clients has taught me valuable lessons on patience and communication. Prior to my work with Flahive,
Ogden, and Latson, I held various other positions in professional office environments that have taught me how to
communicate efficiently and effectively with superiors, assist otherwise difficult customers and clients, all of which have
helped me to become self-sufficient and self-motivated. In addition to my professional experiences, my coursework at the
University of Texas at Austin and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst has been rigorous and has prepared me for
working with and teaching others. My academic schedule has always been rigorous and full, and because of a previous
major transfer, I have experience in different subjects. I enjoy working in groups and leading projects as well as
conducting study sessions among peers. This type of work has always been extremely rewarding for me, and I love
helping others to realize concepts and materials.

I am excited about the prospect of engaging with the student body by assisting their studies. I believe that my professional
experiences and academic background has helped me to further my communication skills and work ethic in groups and
with others. The tools that my classes have equipped me with have been a great help in my academic preparation and
success. I would love to work with other students and help them to master material from classes at UT. I have been told
that I explain difficult concepts and theories well and make it easier to understand. Thank you for taking the time to
consider my application, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Sincerely,

Ashton Martin
