THIS WAS AMONG THE PAPERS OF BRASELTON BROS.

(The "3 B's")

AN OLD FAMILY RELIC

Mr' A' M. Evans of this city (Gainesville, Ceorgia) has in his possession a very old
and a very interesting family record in the shape of a-bible which was handed down from
generation to generation frorn his great-grandfaiher, JACOB BRASELToN,
purchased the book about 1770. Th; oldlnd yellow leaves
sR., who
and the queer old-fashioned
type-faces, the Apochrypha, which was in those days included in the UiUfe
eOitions, aff
make the volume o-ne of unique interest. Of great interest, too, to hundreds in this
of the state is the family record in the old book. The Braseltons of Jackson County, part the
Cannings of this city and Athens, the Evanses of the City, the Hosches, the
Woods, and
many more have derived their lineage from the old famiiy which came to
this part of the
c-ountry fronr Virginia, where the elder Jacob Braselton
-rrri"d a niece of Geneial Ceorge
wqshington. The record in this old vorume is as foilowr,
