ABOUT MYSELF
I am Zanele Mbatha and i am a girl of 20 years old, I was born and raised by two
parents my mom and dad at Durban, KwaZulu Natal province. I have three sisters
and one brother. I am a woman who has a self confident, a woman who is a hard
worker. My family is not rich but i am so proud of them because without them I would
not be here.
Now that i am here at university i dont want to forget where i am coming from, i know
one day i will change myself and my families life. I like to help others and i like to
spend my time staying with kids.

TEACHING PROFESSION:
WHY TEACHING?
Nothing makes me happier than seeing myself making a difference in someones life,
and also making a difference in my environment. I always had this passion for
teaching since I was young I always told my mom that i want to become a teacher
when I grow up.
CURRENT STUDIES
I am currently studying Bachelor in Education (General) at Tshwane University of
Technology
ASPIRATION FOR THE PROFESSION
I wish to get my degree in a record time
Continue with my studies while working

Hard work and dedication will make it all possible.
WHEN I WAS AT SCHOOL
When i was at school, there are so many good and bad memories but i real enjoyed
those at high school level.. When i was at primary school i still cant remember very
well, i was too young.
The secondary school moments are the one i remember the most, I was involved in
many activities, we had school choir, a netball team and i was also the one of those
who were usually selected for debates.
HIGH SCHOOL MOMENTS
I remember this other day when my class grade12 class teacher gave me an
opportunity to stand infront of class and teach, i was so nervous at first but as time
goes by i started to have passion for this teaching field. I am now so thankful to my
Economics teacher who always gave me courage for this field. I also remember
when i was in grade 12 i was selected as one of the top students in Economics and
that is where i realise that i have a potential
PRIMARY SCHOOL MOMENTS
My most interesting moment when i was at primary level is that time when i was
selected to go over seas, I was so happy and i could wait to go there. i was still too
young but i remember well everything that was happening there.. I real had so much
fun there. I also remember when i was at primary the time when i was coaching the
netball team, it was real nice even though sometimes i would do stupid things as i
was still young.
When i reach high school level, that is where i realise i was matured enough, that is
where i found i had passion for teaching.
I started to behave myself as an adult and put more effort to my studies, I knew I had
to do well in order to qualify to go to the university.
MY AWARDS
o Certificate of excellent
I was doing grade 11 at my school when I received this certificate. I was the top
student in Business Studies and Economics. I was so excited and motivated,
because that is where I realised that I am capable.. From there I worked very
hard and that is why I passed my matric with flying colours, and now that I am at
university I want continue doing the best. I want to get more awards, and I know
with hard work I can do it all.

My teaching practice was very interesting.
My mentors were both treating me with respect, in fact I felt like I have competed my
degree. During my classes the connection between me and my learners was up to
standard, we real had a good relationship, they always showed respect to me.
SCHOOL BASED OBSERVATION
It was not easy at the first day as I was so nervous and also I was not aware of
students will respond to me, but as the time goes by I started to enjoy myself and I
too confident. My mentor gave the the task to reflect on the following:

As an LO teacher, I was given the task to observe learners doing extra

MANAGEMENT ARRANGEMENTS AT SCHOOL
DURING TEACHING PRACTICE
I submitted my letter request to do my teaching practice to the principal, I then had to
talk with Mr Mkhwanazi who was my mentor to do all the arrangements. He then
directed me to the mentor and they both talk to me respect, and started to feel
welcomed at my first day, I arranged my time table to see when I am going to class.
It was so nice I real enjoyed myself there.
I then asked the principal to arrange the meeting for us, as I was completing my
journal I had to ask a lot about the history of the school, He responded very nicely to
me and answered all questions, I completed my journal
WHY DID I CHOOSE TEACHING
I always had a dream of becoming a teacher one day, nothing makes me happy than
seeing myself bringing about change especially to my community. And in my own
perspective, I think what makes teaching more funny and interesting is that u need to
be create and share your passion for your subject with unique learners.
I can say above all reasons to become a teacher but passion for children is what
makes me like this field, I was also inspired my my grade 12 class teacher, who
always gave me the opportunity to teach, He real trained me by so doing and I am so
grateful to him. I real love this field and I am certain that every school will want to
have a teacher like me, because I love my field, I am committed to it and I also know
how to deal with learners, since they are coming from different backgrounds I know
how to treat them, I understand and respect their cultures, I do not promote
discrimination in class. I just love kids and I know I will change their future into bright
one.
I want to change so many lives especially in my community where i come from, I
want to bring about change to my family and also to young kids.
ABOUT THE GAME
I created a game that was aimed at improving learners understanding calculations
easy, I planned to design a game involving two or learners individuals. I knew that at
the end of the game, each learner will have gained knowledge and understand
calculations more easy.
I printed the game so nicely and each colour represented each sum and formulas for
calculations.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
To know and understand calculations easy
To develop calculating skills.
