Summary
As a network consultant our project is to analyze business requirement and to plan , design and
implement the remote network.
Net Bazaar.com is the e-commerce arm of the Shopping Group. Net Bazaar provides an
integrated shopping where consumers are able to buy products from our flagship stores including
stationary, kid’s zone, men & women products and get home delivery of products.
This project deals with developing WAN for Net Bazaar headquarters that consists 5 floors to
stay connected with 8 remote offices.
As part of the project in the end client will be provided with a detailed network design (LAN &
WAN) Network back up (Both LAN & WAN), Wireless security
(WEP/WAP), access control (AAA), effective routing mechanisms

Client is also provided with a detailed hardware requirements and specifications for the proposed
design along with a detailed cost analysis of the hardware suggested. IP schema for the given
network design will also be covered under the project scope.

By the virtue of being a part of Shopping Group, Net Bazaar is able to offer a wide range of
genuine products at very competitive prices, confidence of buying from a trusted source and the
convenience of returning in our physical stores.
Net Bazaar is not just another hypermarket or Building . It caters to every need of your family.
Where Net Bazaar scores over other stores is its value for money proposition for the Indian
customers.
At Net Bazaar, you will definitely get the best products at the best prices - that's what we
guarantee. With the ever increasing array of private labels, it will also open the doors into the
world of general merchandise including home furnishings, utensils, crockery, cutlery, sports
goods and much more. And this is just the beginning. Net Bazaar plans to add much more to
complete your shopping experience.

Chapter 1
Client’s business analysis
Net Bazaar is one of the prominent business retailers in India with their supply chain
management extended all over India. So their business scopes from Medium - Large scale.

Net Bazaar public Ltd base location is in Bangalore, India and they have 8 remote offices all
over India. All of this remote location have retail concept along with local sales offices.
Business Threats
As Net Bazaar is a supplier chain management company and in a country like India retail market
segment faces a huge competition.
- Retail business runs mostly on strategies. Any espionage may lead Net Bazaar out of
business.
- Online transactions are the core elements of retail and supply chain management. And
online transactions historical proved are most vulnerable target of cyber crimes.
Client Requirements
Assumptions
- As there is no specific floor plan provided in the project specification, our team is taking
up Vertical view of the building network design rather than longitudinal one which is
more floor plan specific. Our assignment is less on cabling & arrangement but more on
protocols, standards and hardware.
- Our team is free to make realistic assumptions where ever the information from client is
limited to build a network

One remote office model is made to illustrate how the remote LAN is going to be designed.
Retail store is designed with 2 bill printers accompanied with 2 PC’S & an assumption is
made that Manager cabin will be located ground floor.

IT department floor in remote office has a DHCP server that provides the configuration
for all the systems in the office.

5. Frame Relay
Frame Relay is a WAN standard that is most famous from 80’s. In this design Frame relay is the
WAN design that we selected for connecting the remote offices. A leased line with a global IP

address will be got on a lease from BSNL.. Frame relay can work at very great speed and gives a
greater security as it is on a leased line.
- Leased lines
- Amazingly fast
- Security is high
- Can with stand greater data over load.

CAT 5 E Cable
Category 5 cable is a twisted pair high signal integrity cable type often referred to
as Cat5 or Cat-5. Most cables are unshielded, relying on the twisted pair design for noise
rejection, and some are shielded. Category 5 has been superseded by the Category
5e specification structured cabling for computer networks such as Ethernet, and is also
used to carry many other signals such as basic voice services, token ring, and ATM (at up
to 155 Mbits, over short distances).

Conclusion
The network design by our consultancy for Net Bazaar consists of robust WAN technologies and
backup plans and every at most care is taken regarding security measure like WEP for WI-FI
security AAA servers for authentication ,authorization and accounting Of network resources
With all the measures taken in designing the above network can be concluded as:
Available: with a good back up and disaster recovery network and data will be available any
time even under any chaos.
Limitations
We confined the project scope till network layer and a very little on physical layer (cabling…).
So, this assignment can’t guide anyone who is concerned with physical level design of networks.
