5. Proportions ratio and rates, analyzing, drawing [term 1/2]
6. Percent concepts and calculating [term 2]
7. Algebra part 2level 4 + 5 equations [term 2]
8. Circles diameter, radius, circumference, area, arc [term 2]
9. Transformations/dilatations similarity, ratio, enlarging, reducing and scale [term 3]
10. Surface Area geometric solids & nets of solids [term 3]
11. Probability chance, outcome, events, dependent, independent [term 3]

Math Competencies:
1. Solves a situational problem 30%
2. Uses mathematical reasoning 70%

Practice/Participation:
Each student is expected to participate in a constructive manner in class and be prepared for class [that is, to have
the required materials that the teacher has indicated necessary]. Practice [homework] is checked daily. Detentions
will be assigned for homework not done and parent/guardian called if this problem persists.
Topic practice should be expected regularly throughout the school year. An opportunity to start homework is
usually provided in class. If your son/daughter is conscientious, it is possible that he/she may complete the assigned
work in class or during opportunity time at recess or lunch.
At home, there is always academic work to do [such as review notes and practice concepts], even if the teacher has
not assigned this work. Promotion will be greatly influenced by daily efforts at home, as well as at school!

Math Supplies:
Pencils, 8-12 scribblers [32 pp], Graph Paper, Geometry Set, Calculator[strongly suggest 2 line display], 2 binder
with dividers [strongly suggest Zipper Binder], 1 file folder, 2 page protectors, coloured Pens for correction,
Positive Attitude and Sense of Humour

Extra Help:
Extra help is available every day at lunch, please look at the remediation schedule that will be sent out by
administration.
