AirNav Systems is pleased to announce that their space based ADS-B reception network will be
made available to customers as a subscription service in 2018. The initial set of nano-ADS-B
satellites are set to be deployed in Quarter 4, 2017 with further launches to follow until Quarter
2, 2019. This service guarantees worldwide ADS-B coverage that is both affordable and reliable.
Space based ADS-B one of the newest innovations in the flight tracking domain, as it enables
tracking of aircraft in places where ground-based ADS-B systems simply cannot reach. AirNav
Systems Space based ADS-B network uses data from receivers that are placed on nano-satellite
constellations, thus allowing nonstop global air traffic surveillance regardless of terrain, location
or infrastructure. Tracking is unaffected by weather or other natural phenomenon. Aircraft are
not required to have any special equipment on board their aircraft or fleet other than an ADS-B
out transponder.
Customers who operate an aircraft or an aircraft fleet and are looking to be compliant with the
mandatory FAA/ICAO/EASA flight tracking requirements that come into effect in the year 2020,
can do so now with AirNavs ground and space ADS-B network service Radarbox24. Customers
subscribed to this service will also receive real-time updates from 8 other flight data sources such
as ADS-B, MLAT, FAA ASDI, Oceanic Reports, Flight Plans, CPDLC and HFDL.
