Phonics Lesson Observation Guide

The teacher taught a phonics lesson on a specific letter sound. She began with a review of previously taught letters using flashcards, then introduced the new letter sound. Students repeated the sound individually and together. The teacher modeled writing the letter while saying the sound, then students practiced writing it on mini whiteboards and with wooden sticks. The lesson focused on writing and spelling the letter. Students were engaged through active writing activities and tracing worksheets with pictures. Independent learning centers reinforced the lesson through activities developing phonics skills like letter pronunciation in books.
