Procedure to broadcast:
open query using bex query designer In toolbar click query
publish
BeX Broadcaster
log in with the desired credentials
click create new setting
Provide descp(your query name)
Maintain distribution type = broadcast mail
broadcast portal
broadcast email(bursting)
Fill OLAP cache
Fill MDX cache
Output format = XML (excel based)
PDF
HTML
MSTML
Online link to data.
Click SAVE.
Note: U REMEMBER ONLY BROADCAST MAIL & BROADCAST PORTAL.
Note: using tcode = rsrd_admin is same as query publish BeX

Note: If u maintain distribution type = broadcast to email, then we need to provide
emailid’s.
Note: If u maintain distribution type = broadcast to portal, then we should select a
folder available on the portal.
Note: All reports scheduled in background can be checked for status in
tcode SOST.
Note: All the settings can be modified through the tcode rsrd_amin.
Note: If u maintain email bursting as distribution type the report will be sent out to
the users who are having
email id’s in their user info(i.e tcode su01)
Note: we can provide subject,body,variable/variant,exceptions to the broadcast
settings
Broadcast settings are always static.
*Note: there is a process available in rspc to trigger the broadcast when the loads
are completed to the data
targets.
NOTE: VARIABLE VALUES WON’T GET UPDATED AUTOMATICALLY IN THE
BROADCAST
SETTING. E.G SY-DATUM , WEEK VALUE.
We should create a variant for each & every value & then call it.

5) what are iViews?

iView means bex query
It is a carrierwhich carries bex query/template .
This iView will be embedded/integrated in user specific roles i.e in enterprise portal
the user will click a iView and it will open the bex report.
There are several types of iViews like bex webappln iView & bex navigational iView.
In interview mention that u worked with bex web application iView.
6) Portal Integration (Integrating BW reports to portal)

a)Intergating BW reports to portal is done through Bex query designer.
Open bex query in menu toolbar click query publish To Portal
Select the role in the portal and click OK.
The iView will be created automatically in selected role.
b)Login to portal click on content admin role

provide technical name and descp to iView(give ur query
name here)
select radio button bex web application iView
provide the bex query string (by pasting url)
How to provide the bex query string:?
Execute the query in query designer
Now copy URL from “query = “ and paste the URL in the
bex string of iView.
click finish
preview the iView.
7) Create a Role in the portal.
This is done usually by basis consultants
You should have a user administration role.
Create the role and assign users to the role.
The role list will be provided by the container.
Roles should be assigned to different user groups.
8) Assign iViews to Roles.
What do u do here:?
Ans: Basically I have a previously created iView, then I create a folder and put the
iView in that folder.(something similar to keeping hyperlinks in a folder and when u
click any link it opens a report)
Procedure:
Open your role
Create a folder for different reports in that role. For e.x. folder for south region,
folder for north region etc.
Select the folder in the role
Right click on iView add delta link.
Now your iView will be assigned to a folder.
Save the role.
Check the role by assigning it to user groups / user.
Note: the user who are having relevant role can only check this report.

request at OS level.

b) go to se09 specify TR number release directly
c) tcode stms click import overview

Sometimes there may be a case that in spite of successful migration of a BW object
via transport, the object
continues to remain inactive.
There may also be cases where we mistakenly forget to transport a dependent
object and hence the dependent object remains inactive in the Production system.
For such scenarios SAP has helped us by providing programs which activate the
objects without the need for
us to transport them from development to production.
