Brief Description of the Project
To establish and construct a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) that will serve as
the final sorting, segregation, composting, and recycling of solid waste. This project will
help the San Miguel National High School maintaining the cleanliness of their
surroundings. For the school to have a place where they can keep the garbage, not just
to keep but to turn it to a better thing.
Project Components:
COMPONENT 1: Site Inspection and Data Gathering
Objectives:
1. Gather data about the existing solid waste management program of San Miguel
National High School.
2. To familiarized with the common solid waste of the community and to assess their
way of waste management.
COMPONENT 2: Construction of MRF
1. To allows the people of the school to independently recycle materials if they so
desire.
2. To enhance segregation policy and to help people of San Miguel National High
School achieve a nicer way to keep their waste.
COMPONENT 3: Seminar on Solid Waste Management Program
1. To give them knowledge on how to use, maintain and operate the Material
Recovery Facility.
2. To send awareness to the community about the importance of proper
management of solid waste.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
1. Students and staff of the San Miguel National High School must use the Material
Recovery Facility in a proper way.
2. Active participation of the community in terms of solid waste management.
3. Develop a clean and healthful environment for the students, staffs, and residents
near San Miguel National High School.
4. Large portion of waste generated are reused and recycled.
5. Institute good governance and improved community management.
