Question 2
Read the following text. Then answer questions (a) — (j).
Managing time in school is one of the hardest things to do, especially during secondary
school. It can be hard when you have your mind on many things. It is easy to become stressed,
juggling so many tasks at the same time.
Before going to school, make sure you are awake, have a healthy breakfast, and be
well rested! These basic factors play the most important role in time management.
In the classroom, try to stay focused and concentrate during a lesson. It is difficult to
learn on an empty stomach and students who come to school without having breakfast are
known to perform poorly at school. Try not to sidetrack during lessons! It's hard when that
teacher is just so boring and you start to think about other things. If you tend to daydream
during lessons, better to save it for lunch or when you're at home with some free time.
Don't let your friends distract you! During lessons it's hard to resist the temptation of
passing notes, but just ignore them. Give them back to the sender or save them for later to
reply.
Avoid doodling, even if it seems tempting. It's hard to believe how fast time flies
when you're caught up with a drawing. But you could miss listening to an important lesson or
tips and techniques shared by your teacher.

For goodness sake, what’s this? Can this be REALLY you?
Your face is clean for once, dear, Now were you struck by lightning
Your clothes without a crease. Or were you stunned at sport?
You saved your luncheon money? Ah … now I see the reason.
Will wonders never cease? You’ve brought your school report!
No dropping of your school books,
No shrieking, childish treble.
Today you are a lamb, love,
Where yesterday a rebel
