Report on educational workshop on
“Cardiac Nursing – 21st century way”
An educational workshop as a part of medical surgical nursing on the theme Cardiac Nursing-21st
century way was organized by M.Sc Nursing Students on 17/02/2018 at Shri Satya Sai Sanjeevani
Institute of Nursing & Allied health care sciences Naya Raipur.
Central Objective of the conference
The central objective of the educational workshop was to identify cardiac nursing and the role of
nurse in cardiac emergency.
Aims and Objective
1) To recognize the congenital heart disease.
2) To understand and assume the various role and responsibilities of cardiac emergency nurse.
3) To ensure trends in cardiac nursing.
4) To analyze and understand the care giving a life time opportunity.
Programme Schedule
Registration:
The Organizers and participate were registered and every and was provided with registration
kit. Registration Kit include items like conference pad, pen, programme schedule, identity card,
evaluation form etc. participants were seated in Shri Sai Sowbhagyam auditorium (Naya Raipur)
Inaurguration:
The conference was inaugurated by respected chief guest Gupta Sir, Dr. Ashish
Katewa and Dr. Atul Prabhu and Dr. Vasantha Nair (National Medical Director, Ekam Foundation)
and welcome address by principal Mrs Manokamana Principal (SSSINANS)
Unfolding theme
The theme of conference was unfolded by Mrs. D Nithiya (Associate Professor of
SSSINANS) Medical Surgical Nursing Department of SSSINANS regarding cardiac nursing, Trends
in cardiac nursing.
Session-I
The first session was presented by Dr Ashish Katewa (HOD pediatric cardiac surgery, Shri
Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital) on topic congenital heart disease.
Session-II
Session-II was conducted on cardiac emergency (adult & pediatric) and role of nurse in
cardiac emergency.
Session-III
Session III was conducted on topic trends in cardiac nursing presented by Mrs. Manokamna,
principal of SSSINANS and associate professor Mrs. D Nithiya (Associate Professor of SSSINANS)
Session-IV
Session-IV was conducted by Dr. Vasantha Nair (Pediatrician) National Medical Director on
topic care giving A life opportunity focus mainly serve “Love all and Serve all”
Session-V
Session-V was presentation on the topic values we cherish focused how we feel happy and
smile and related surrender and internalize and touch all five senses.
Session-VI
Session-VI was presentation on topic Yoga for cardiac healing- Pre-post & Preventive
measure by Yogi Ji (Richard Gorrellus) along with M.Sc nursing 1st year students of SSSINANS.
Valedicatory Session
The conference ended with valedictory session and distribution of certificate at 5:30 pm. Vote
of thanks given to everyone and the conference ended with great success and accomplishment.
