This document provides a 3-step Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedure: 1. Prepare for equipment shutdown by identifying energy sources and controls. Apply lockout devices to energy isolation points and post warning tags. 2. Relieve, disconnect, restrain and otherwise render safe any stored or residual hazardous energy. Verify isolation and release of energy before working on equipment. 3. When work is complete, remove lockout devices and notify affected employees before re-energizing equipment.
