PGDBM (Full Time)Admissions 2016/18– Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Form sale starts on 15th Jan 2016
1. What are the Eligibility Criteria for these courses?
a) A candidates must have passed a Three Years Bachelor’s degree examination with minimum of 50% in any faculty of
Mumbai University or an examination recognized by Mumbai University as equivalent thereto.
b) Candidate must have appeared for CAT or XAT or CMAT (January 2016). Candidates appearing for Maharashtra CET
can also apply. Converted scores of any other exam will not be accepted
c) We do not have any agents/ representative/agency who are involved in the admission process of N L Dalmia Institute
of Management Studies and Research. Any candidate approaching such fraudulent parties will do so at their own risk.
Institute is not responsible for such cases.
d) Admission rules applicable are as per University of Mumbai and/or AICTE and/or Institute.
e) IIM in case of CAT and XLRI in case of XAT have no role either in selection process or in the conduct of the program in
N L Dalmia.
2. Does the Institute have any Management Quota?
NO. Institute does not have any management Quota. NO ENQURIES WOULD BE ENTERTAINED REGARDING
MANAGEMENT QUOTA.
3. What are the timings to collect the form? What is the form fee?
Admission forms are available in Admission office of the Institute from Monday to Saturday from 09.30 am to 5.00 pm.
Form fees is Rs. 2000/- which is non-refundable. Form fees is payable by CASH or Demand Draft only. Demand Draft
should be in favour of ‘N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research’ payable at Mumbai for Rs. 2000/-
4. How can I apply for these courses?
MUMBAI CANDIDATES: Candidate can collect the Admission Form and the Kit personally from the Institutes Admission
Office by paying Rs. 2000/- and submit the filled up form at the Institute office. Candidate is also required to submit
TWO recent passport size color photographs along with the form

OUTSIDE MUMBAI CANDIDATES : They can download 4 pages admission form from the website and send the form, duly
filled, along with two photographs and Demand Draft of Rs. 2000/- in favour of ‘N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management
Studies and Research’ payable at Mumbai. Admission kit will be sent to them on the given address within 15 to 20
working days.
Institute would not be responsible for loss or delay due to postal/courier transit etc.
5. What is the last date of form submission?
Last date of submission of form is 31st March 2016 up to 5:00 P.M. Forms received after this would not be considered for
selection process. Any couriered forms should also reach us by 5:00 P.M. on 31st March 2016.
6. Is there any cut-off score/ percentile, in entrance exam, for applying?
No. There is no cut-off for application.
7. What is the admission procedure?
Selection will be based purely on merit, which will be evaluated out of 100 marks.
i. 50 Marks for CAT or XAT or CMAT or MH-CET Score (We will convert your percentile into 50 marks as per our
Admission Criteria)
ii. 15 Marks is for your Past Academic record.
iii. 15 Marks for Personal Interview conducted by the institute.
iv. 10 Marks for Group Discussion conducted by the institute.
v. 05 Marks for Essay Writing conducted by the institute.
vi. 03 Marks for your Work Experience if any.
vii. 02 Marks for your extra-curricular activities. It must be at district/ state / national level.
Marketing and Finance – Selection Process
Selection will be done in two phases for 100 seats of Marketing/ Finance.
Phase I – Based on CAT/ XAT/ CMAT score
Phase II – Based on MH-CET/ CAT/ XAT/ CMAT score
The number of seats in the two phases will depend on number of applications received with indicated preference.
HR- Selection Process
Selection for 20 seats of HR specialisation will be completed in single phase after declaration of MH-CET results only.
8. How will I submit my MH-CET details to N. L. Dalmia Institute?
Students will need to submit a self-attested hard copy of their MH-CET Hall ticket at the time of GD-PI process. Any false
data will lead to cancellation of admission.
9. When is the Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), Essay Writing and Document Verification?
The GD-PI will be in the month of April 2016. The dates will be given to you when you submit the form. Those who apply
through Demand Draft/ by post the GD-PI Dates will be informed to them by post. GD, PI, Essay Writing and Document
Verification will be completed on the same day.
10. Can we change the GD-PI Date?
No. GD-PI Dates are not changeable.
(If it is clashing with your Final Year Graduation Exam then contact Admission Office with documents, as proof of exams;
No other personal reason will be entertained)
11. What is the dress code for Personal Interview?
Dress code is business formals. E.g.: Grey / Black / White/ Blue
Applicants are suggested that they should avoid t-shirts, sleeveless tops and skirts.
12. What Original documents do I require during my GD-PI process?
Following ORIGIONAL documents are required during Personal Interview.
1. Original ID Card given at the time of Form Submission
2. Written Test Score Card (CAT / XAT / CMAT/ MH-CET)
3. Class X Mark sheet
4. Class XII Mark sheet
5. Last Year Graduation Mark sheet (If you are appearing for final year exams, provide with latest exam Mark sheet)
6. Convocation Degree and Passing Certificate
7. Work Experience Certificate as applicable
8. Extra-Curricular Activities if any (District Level, State level, National level etc.)
13. When will the result of admission be declared?
The date of PGDBM admission results will be communicated at the time of GD-PI process. The result will be available on
the institute notice board as well as on the website.
14. What is the duration of the course?
Course is of Two Years Full Time comprising of four semesters.
15. How many Semesters are there?
There are total 4 semesters over 2 years. (2 semesters per year)
16. How many Seats are available for each course?
There are total 120 seats for this programme. 100 seats are available for candidates who want to specialize in Marketing
or Finance and 20 Seats are available for a Specialized Human Resource Management Program.
17. Do I have to decide my specialisation in advance?
YES. Candidate has to decide his/her specialization at the time of applying. If the candidates wants to be considered for
Marketing, Finance and HR selection process, He/ She can do so by buying separate forms.
18. What is the course content?
Course content is available on the website and in the admission kit/ Brochure.
19. What photocopies are required to be submitted along with the form?
Please don’t send any photocopies with the form. All Original Documents will be verified during GD-PI Process only.
20. What are the fees of the courses?
The fees for PGDBM course is decided by Shikshan Shulk Samiti. For fees details please contact to accounts department

21. Do you have Hostel Facility?
Hostel facilities are arranged in the form of rented flats for OUTSTATION Candidates only near the campus of the
institute. There will be Deposit of Rs. 30,000/- which is refundable.
Monthly rent is Rs. 5000/- approx. – excluding mess charges
22. What is the placement Record of last batch?
Highest Salary – INR 16 Lakhs pa
Average Salary – INR 06 Lakhs pa
