RIGAUDON DANCE
Rigaudon is a French dance from the Baroque style period between 1600 and 1750. Rigaudon
or rigadoon are common alternative spellings for the dance master from Marseille “Marsay” named
Rigaud. The dance master reportedly invented rigaudon in 1630 but Wendy Hilton, in her book “Dance
and Music of Court and Theater”, states that rigodon is identical to another Baroque “Barowk” dance
called Bourree. “Booray”
Mitch: Well, to lift your spirit up, let’s welcome the beautiful ladies and handsome gentlemen of
seniors in their rigaudon dance.
Belle: What a nice and great performance! Congratulations to the trainers Ms. Marnie, especially Sir Villie
for their unselfish and untiring efforts in training them.
Belle: Light represents the presence of God. It also represents the direction and Guidance of Light. The
lighting of the unity candles is a very meaningful expression in an occasion like this,
symbolizing the union of two hearts and lives.
Mitch: Try to think of yourself and imagine living in a world without any sound. How would you feel
living in a world like this? Ladies and gentlemen, the lighting of candles accompanied with the
sweet voices of our dear Lavernians in their ball song “ Just One Candle.”
Mitch: Yes! You are right, Ms. Belle. Let’s fill the night with music and magic. Because at this time, we
will have the special dance. Who do you think will be your partner in your first sweet dance
tonight? Well, let’s see…( call each pair )
DANCE! DANCE! DANCE!
Belle: Everybody is cordially invited and encouraged to dance.
Belle and Mitch: And once again, good evening! Let’s pleasure the rest of the night!
( dance…dance… )
AWARDING
Mitch: Finally, ladies and gentlemen, may I request to stop the disco ball rolling that heated up the
dance.
Belle: Yes! Because we will be giving you the grandest time!
Mitch:Yes, exactly partner! We have come to the rewarding part, the proclamation of the winners after
those marvelous performances!
Belle and Mitch: So brace yourselves, for the blazing announcement of winners!
Mitch: May we call in Ms. Marnie T. Amacio and Mr. Villie S. Alas to announce the winners.
( Ms. Marnie will announce the winners)

Pazramer F. Fadrilan to lead the tossing of wine for the success of this majestic occasion.
Belle: Thank you so much God for the success of this special occasion.
Mitch: A night filled with glamour and elegance is indeed a night to remember. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s
me Ms. Mitch and…
Belle: Ms. Belle saying….
Belle and Mitch: Thank you and God bless! Good night everyone.
