a. Exposition:
Mario enters from the street at left. He is in the late twenties shabbily dressed and with
hair that seems to have been uncut for weeks. Gloria greeted him and then Mario asked about the
condition of their child.
b. Rising action
Gloria asked his husband about the salary but her husband was caught in his job that's
why he don't have a salary that he will give to Gloria
c. Climax
Pablo came and invited Mario to his work. Pablo is a drug pusher that made Gloria
mad and didn't want Mario to go with Pablo
d. Falling action
Mario admitted that he still communicate with Pablo.
e. Denouement
Mario went with Paul even though he knew the evil works of Pablo

About the author:
Alberto Florentino is a Filipino playwright and book publisher. His plays in English center on the
conflicts in the everyday lives of ordinary Filipinos. The most famous among his works is The World is an
Apple which earned him his first Palanca Award in 1954 and remains one of the most performed plays in
the Philippines.
His books of plays include: The World is an Apple and Other Prize Plays; The Portable Florentino;
Memento Mori; Sangyugto; Panahon ng Digma; From Book to Stage; among others.
His father, a teacher, was active on school activities such as directing plays, opted to get
assistance from his son to do copies of the plays that he is directing.
