The Verified Log Book Will Become Mandatory For Renewal From January 2017
The BGAS/CSWIP approval scheme has been brought in line with all other CSWIP schemes
and is now accredited by UKAS in accordance with ISO/IEC 17024 “Conformity Assessment
– General requirements for bodies operating certification of personnel” and will now be
operated through TWI Certification Ltd.
Each category of certification (approval) will be renewed after five years by documentary
evidence in line with ISO 17024. The ten year recertification will be by documentary
evidence followed by the recertification examination.
National Grid has agreed to a transitional period to December 2016 for all BGAS
renewals and recertifications. Candidates undertaking a renewal within this timescale
can provide a CV when renewing categories, they will then be sent a CSWIP log

details on how to obtain the log book or complete the application form on the CSWIP
website.
Companies who pay for candidates to attend the examination will be sent the two
certificates of proficiency and the ID card.
Candidates renewing over three categories will be charged the equivalent of two
standard renewal fees £219.00 (excluding VAT).
Please note: TWI Examination Services will continue to conduct all initial and
recertification examinations.
