Wampfler-US Load Diagrams Program 0170 Rubber Bumpers

The document provides diagrams showing the energy absorption and force levels of different diameter rubber bumpers over the range of suspension travel. It includes the following information: 1. Charts showing energy-travel and force-travel diagrams for rubber bumpers with diameters ranging from 40mm to 315mm. 2. An explanation of how to calculate the energy absorption of a bumper based on its mass, velocity, and compression length readings from the diagrams. 3. Notes that the bumper compression must be less than half its height and its maximum force must be less than the crane structure's limit.

1. Calculation of energy per bumper: W = ½ m × v² W = Energy Absorption [J] • Max. deflection = 50%
2. Readout compression length from the diagram s = Travel [mm]
3. Readout final load of the bumper from the table F = Force [kN] • Valid for solid-rubber bumpers
4. Result and verification v = Velocity [m/s] with h = 0,8 × d1
➞ s < 0,5 × h m = Mass [kg]
➞ F < Fmax of the crane structure h = Bumper height
2 ➞ a = v²/2s < amax a = deceleration
