MOLYLUBE® CAM COMPOUND L56
Molylube Cam Compound L56 is specifically designed to meet the requirements for use on
Bucyrus Erie draglines as an economical lubricant for the “Monighan” walking cam mechanism.
It is formulated using a non-asphaltic, petroleum base oil, containing no solvents with a carefully
selected blend of solids and additives to form an exceptionally tough film in service.
Applications
Designed for “Monighan” cam systems on Bucyrus Erie draglines where application through
an automatic dispensing system is desired, or it can be applied manually as required
Meets demanding requirements on other slow rolling or sliding surfaces, e.g., cam guide roller
and rails, shoe rub rails
Features and Benefits
Tough, pliable film Resilient and tenacious, resisting erosion under tremendous
service pressure
Smoother operation Eliminates chatter and vibration for smoother cam operation.
Environmentally friendly Solvent free, contains no heavy metals. Remains flexible
eliminating cracking and spitting.
Reduced consumption “A little goes a long way,” generating lower operating costs.
All-season Designed for year-round service where ambient temperatures
range from 49°C (120°F) to -35°C (-30°F).
General Description
Molylube Cam Compound L56 is designed to have an adhesive-flexible film on the cam
surfaces under the extreme pressures in excess of 160,000 psi - Hertz Stress Load at temperatures
in excess of 316°C (600°F) generated in the application. Formulated with over thirty (30) percent
low-friction lubricating solids, it builds a pliable semi-dry film which limits accumulation of
abrasives and dust while resisting washing.
