7TH MEETING: PEC ELECTRICAL STANDARD ON WIRING SYSTEM

TERMINAL CONNECTIONS : 1 inch

1. Splice the wire by 1”

2. Twist the bare wires by using the sidecutter pliers.
3. Make the bare wire into a hook figure.
4. Place the hook wire by following to the tightening direction of the bolt or
screw.

Layout Procedure: (Listen on the presentation of the wiring booth)

1. Place first the panelboard in accordance to the given height mark at the
diagram.
2. Place the junction boxes following the given distances on the plan.
3. Place the adapters into the hole as required.
4. Measure in between the fittings before cutting the conduit as required.
5. Place the meter base in accordance to the given distance from the
panelboard.
6. Place the conduit as required distances before the entrance cap.
7. Insert GI wire into the conduits and junction boxes.
8. Attached the required number of conductor wire/s at the end of the GI
wire and pull out at the other side.
9. Install the required receptacles and electrical devices as required
10. Check the circuit before commissioning.

Installation Procedure Using Plastic Molding

1. Mount the junction boxes as required in accordance to the given

distance before cutting the plastic molding.
2. Place the plastic molding aligned to the hole in between
junction boxes and mark lines on both sides of the molding.
3. Make markings to where the screw should be placed.
4. Drill a hole on the screw markings and place a tox.
5. Apply rugby inside the marked lines on the wall and the back of
the plastic molding.
6. Dry the rugby at least 30 minutes before placing the plastic
molding on the wall

PROCEDURE IN BENDING METAL CONDUITS:

STANDARD DISTANCE OR MEASUREMENTS in accordance to Philippines Electrical Code.
1. Entrance Cap height from the finished floor - 3.60m
2. Meter Based height from the finished floor or ground - 1.65m
3. Grounding depth in the ground - 2.4 to 3m
4. Panelboard: See figures (to photocopy from original paper)
5. Distance between supporting service - 1m
6. Distance between the Junction box/Utility boxes and the support
services - 2.5cm
7. Switch height from the finished floor - 1.45m
8. Convenience Outlets height from the finished floor - 30 to 45 cm
9. Special purpose outlet from the equipment - depends on the
location of the equipment at least 1(one) m away
10. Tripping time of C.B. - .0025SEC.
11. Maximum of bends in single conduit – Three (3) bends
12. Conduit used for service entrance - Rigid Metallic Conduit
13. Measuring Magnet wire Insulation for Motors
600v and below = 1.5 mohms
2300v = 3.5 mohms
4000v = 5.0 mohms
