NARRATIVE REPORT

SSG CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN”

Per Division Memorandum, the participants from Lantad Integrated School-Senior

High School, namely, Emigdio J. cartilla. (principal), Eman A. Lachica and Glory Mae A.
Genovia (SSG advisers) and Sander A. Ramos (SSG president) attended the national
leadership training in Claveria, Misamis Oriental last November 4-9, 2017.

The theme of the national leadership training held in Claveria, Misamis

Oriental was SSG CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN.” Delegates around the Province of Misamis
Oriental were seen and nearly popped up the whole Teachers’ Camp for the 6-day
activity. Hundreds of leaders, together with their advisers rocked the event-place with
their great enthusiasm and cooperation.

According to the provincial president, leaders are not born, but SSG makes them.
The said training was composed of different sessions wherein the great speakers were
invited to share their knowledge with leadership skills and good governance, how to
become a great leader, what are the duties and responsibilities of SSG officers and so
forth.

Student leaders were divided into different groups wherein they were assigned to
houses or halls during breakout sessions. Such houses had their different yells and they
added flavor to the training. Besides, leaders were again divided into smaller groups,
together with their facilitator. There were special tasks assigned for them to do which were
given to them and instructed by the facilitator.

After every game, there would be a review or discussion about the lessons of the
game, about what they’ve learned and what were the things that the participants from
diverse regions should be done in order for the activities to be successful. During that
event, in every game there was fun, and in every enjoyment there was a lesson--a lesson
that made all the students politically active and turned into great leaders in their own way.
But, there were more…they also had the social night, together with the celebrities
who performed that night, and no one had explained the ecstasy or happiness that rushed
the people’s hearts. The “pricking feeling” factor had made the girls experience during the
socialization night with their favorite actors and singers who performed on the stage. The
boys were amazed by the presence of charming actresses and singers.

Fun is everywhere. In fact, in the Provincial Election for the Provincial Federation
of the Supreme Student Government, it was awesome. The candidates shared with one
another with regard to politics—having manifested every actuation or move they made,
and every word they said.

We, the participants and viewers, were really stunned at how they delivered their
platform of government, and how they argued and defended their parties fairly during the
“Meeting De Avance.”

This training would not be very successful without the help and prior surge of Hon.
Joey Pelaez, together with the active leaders of our division. That’s why, without him “we
can’t make it happen,” and because they are the active leaders, of course, they truly make
it happen for all of us, especially the participants.
