The e-commerce market in the Middle East is projected to double to $69 billion by 2020, with the UAE and Saudi Arabia being the largest markets. However, high trade barriers and a lack of supply chain expertise present challenges to growth in the region. Dubai is well-positioned to become a hub for e-commerce in the GCC. An upcoming conference aims to help e-commerce operators in the region overcome challenges and share best practices for managing supply chains and reducing costs. The conference organizers have requested that the COO of Dubai Trade deliver the keynote address to highlight how Dubai Trade is supporting growth in the important e-commerce sector.

Mr Hussain Al Balooshi
Chief Operating Officer
Dubai Trade

Greetings from Infinity Expo!

Dear Sir,

The Middle East e-commerce market is set to double to more than $69bn by 2020 according to a recent
report by online regional payment platform PayFort. Of this UAE’s $27 billion e-commerce market and
the Kingdom of Saudi Mena’s $22 billion market, will be the two largest markets dominating the region
by 2020.

Like they say, big opportunities do bring along challenges and the ones that could impact this growth
in the GCC region would be evolving legislation and supply chain expertise. There are high trade
barriers in the region which makes it difficult for online retailers to ship products. Add to that the stage
of learning curve in terms of managing supply chains of fast moving large volume of multiple products.

Dubai is uniquely positioned to become the hub for the E Commerce trade for most GCC operators and
EComm MENA conference scheduled on 24th April 2018 will aim to be a platform to identify, learn and
imbibe the best practice in managing Etail supply chains, overcoming the last mile delivery challenges,
optimising distribution costs, optimising reverse logistics process, leveraging technology to enhance
efficiencies and reduce costs.

The conference is being organised with invaluable support from National Association of Freight &
Logistics (NAFL) and key industry associations. This learning will be shared by professionals and
industry peers who have proven skills in this area and can help the players in the geography become
regional leaders .

We write to request you to deliver a Keynote at the Conference at 9:30am on 24th April at The Address
Hotel, Dubai Mall highlighting how the Dubai Trade is gearing up to support the growth in this
important sector. We are confident that the industry will benefit immensely from your rich experience.

A copy of the brochure form is attached for your reference. We will be happy to align the exact timings
and logistics details in consultation with your office upon hearing your acceptance

With sincere regards,
