Introduction

Eureka Forbes Ltd is a consumer goods company based in Mumbai, India. It was founded

in 1982 and is a part of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group. Its product portfolio consists

of water purification, vacuum cleaning, air purification and home security solutions. The

company has a current base of 15 million consumers with more than 450 locations and

18,000 dealers in India. It also has a global footprint across 35 countries.

The company has been recognized for supporting social initiatives such as Euroable.

The company delivers customized solutions to multiple institutions operating in different

industrial spaces.

To introduce previously unknown products to a society in which nationwide commercial

campaigns were impossible, the company pioneered direct selling. The corps of suit-clad

Eureka Forbes salesmen was a tremendous success. They are now Asia’s largest direct

selling organization with a 5,000 strong direct sales force touching 1.25 million Indian

homes and adding 1,500 customers daily. Such was the success of Eureka Forbes that

Aquaguard has become a synonym for water purifier in India.

The company is the largest direct selling organization and has been considered as one

among the most admired consumer durable companies in the country. The company has

also drawn up plans for diversification to manufacture products aimed at smart homes

and safe homes.

The belief that unpolluted water and air the birthright of every person led to the Eureka

Forbes Institute of environment being setup. It promotes conservation of natural water

and air resources through activity like broadcasting air and water levels pollution in

major cities on television, India’s first national environment focused quiz for school

children and rainwater harvesting.

With over 10,000 employees Eureka Forbes Ltd. is the leader in domestic and industrial

water purification systems, vacuum cleaners, air purifiers and security systems.

Eureka Forbes followed the globally ‘tried and tested’ direct selling route for marketing

its products in India, thus becoming one of the first direct selling companies in India.

Vacuum cleaners and water purifiers were rather new concepts for Indian consumers,

who had till then followed only the traditional methods of cleaning and filtering.

Therefore, Eureka Forbes had to first establish the concept of vacuum cleaners and water

purifiers in India before it could sell ‘Eureka’ as a brand. The company believed that its

core strength was its people. It employed dynamic, highly motivated individuals, called

‘Euro champs’ who projected the image of the friendly man from Eureka Forbes. Thus,

for the average Indian consumer, Eureka Forbes became synonymous with the smartly

dressed.

Salesmen who came to their houses and cleaned up things in a jiffy or showed how

air/water purifiers were indispensable. Euro champs initially targeted the metros but soon

began visiting smaller cities and towns also.

Current scenario

The consumer durables market in India is valued at US $9.7 billion currently. In 2015,

microwave ovens and air conditioners registered a growth of about 25%. Frost-free

refrigerators have registered significant growth as many urban families are replacing their

old refrigerators. Refrigerator sales amounted to 4.2 million in 2015, whereas the

production of the refrigerators went up by 17% as compared to the preceding year.

Washing machines, which have always seen poor growth, have seen reasonable growth

more and more Indians are now buying electrical appliances due to change in electricity

scenario.

The penetration level of color televisions is expected to increase 3 times by 2015. It dates

back to 1982, when health ambassadors from Eureka Forbes, with a new concept of

living in a clean environment and drinking water in its purest form knocked on your door.

They called themselves friends for life and they proved that they indeed were. Eureka

Forbes continues to be the best friend in Indian households after three decades and the

sentiments have not changed.

Eureka Forbes is a part of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group and today it is a 15 billion INR,

4. Security System

Euro vigil security systems, considered as India’s most advanced electronic security

system are a part of the Eureka Forbes family. Euro vigil offers highly advanced and

complete security systems which include Video Door Phones, Intrusion Alarm Systems,

CCTV Surveillance, Access Control Systems and CMS (Central Monitoring Station). All

Corporate Social Responsibilities

In 2000, the Eureka Forbes Institute of Environment(EFIE) was founded. It is a registered

public charitable organization that creates and supports various social initiatives.

Eureka Forbes in association with National Society for Equal Opportunities for the

Handicapped NASEOH launched EuroAble, a call centre manned by people with special

needs.

EuroAble is India’s first state-of-the-art call centre manned and operated entirely by

people with special needs. This initiative facilitates their integration into the value chain

and mainstream of society. Other efforts include ‘Nana Nani Parks’ for senior citizens to

relax, free drinking water kiosk in public places and a partnership with World Vision to

provide water filter units owned and run by women self-help groups during emergencies.

They also have initiated the ‘Jagrut Mumbaikar Jagrut Mumbaikar’ programme, with the

Police and Fire Brigade, an initiative that teaches citizens how to safeguard themselves.

Code of Conduct

 Identification

You will identify yourself as a representative from EUREKA FORBES LIMITED with

the support of an identity card issued by the company.

 Territory

You will sell the products of the company at the customer’s house/office within the

specified boundaries approved by the company.

 Information and Use of the Products

o You will offer details to the customer about the products which can be

confirmed with the necessary demonstration in support of information

mentioned in the brochure, user manual or literature published by the

company. You shall not overstate or exaggerate claims/features of the product.

o You will inform the customer about any scheme with the products which are

officially announced by the company.

 Standard and Quality of Products

You will offer the details about the standard and quality of the products which are

mentioned in the brochure and which are confirmed by respective authorities by

certificate.

 Product Price

You will offer the products to the customer at the price which is fixed by the company

and there will be no deviation from the same.

You will inform the customer of technical details which are mentioned in the brochure,

My training scenario in Eureka Forbes

On 5th June 2017, my training has started in Eureka Forbes Ltd. At first day I just fill up

all the documents which they required from me. After filling the documents Ms. Shilpa

Ma’am introduced me with Mr. Bhagwan Mishra Sir who gave me 3 days training

including orientation, introduction and product information. After the completion of my

training Shilpa Ma’am introduced me with Mr. Jeewan Bhatt Sir who is team leader of

Dr. Aquaguard team and under his guidance my field training got started.

Orientation day

On the first day, Mr. Bhagwan Mishra Sir introduced me with the company and its

working environment. It helped me in gaining confidence and feeling comfortable with

the company’s environment. Mr. Bhagwan Mishra Sir gave me the brief introduction

about the company and how it works.

Three days training

On the second and third day of training, Mr. Bhagwan Sir told me about how company do

work and achieve its targets. He also gave me a brief description on the products

available in the company that also helped me in gaining more confidence. In this training

I came to know about the life of a sales person. To motivate and to make employee more

familiar in the company, they use to call an employee a “Euro champ”.

Field work

After completing the training program now it’s time to apply the gained theoretical

knowledge into the practical way. Around 08:15 AM all Euro champs get together in the

field meeting. In this meeting, place and target is decided for each and every Euro champ.

Then Euro champs go for door knocking that is cold knocking till 12:00 PM.

Euro champs come to office after door knocks and discuss about their performances.

Around 04:00 PM, Euro champs go for the commercial door knocking.

My Learning

Summer training is a part of management study, it provide us practical knowledge about

market an real world corporation which we read at books and training gives us real
