OBJECTIVE As a practicing Catholic, I aim to obtain a full-time teaching position
in a primary school environment that supports ethical values. I
would like to immerse myself in the community to provide
opportunity to put my education and skills into practice.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY I am a committed and motivated graduate teacher who believes in ongoing education
and reflective practice. I believe the teaching process works in collaboration with
parents, carers and the wider community, to support the development of student
efficacy. Through inclusive education I believe students develop confidence, resilience
and a powerful sense of identity, enabling them to develop respect for every person
they encounter. I aim to create a safe and supportive classroom environment that
allows for mutual teacher-student-parent respect. I also aim to introduce a healthy
collaboration with students that promotes a safe space for student response. This
collaboration with the children builds students confidence in investigating,
experimenting and problem solving. I aim to foster cultural diversity in the classroom
and throughout the school, to promote a broader understanding of the world. I believe
a key element of students learning is their ability to transfer knowledge from one
context to another. This includes bringing a student’s virtual school bag into the
classroom, to provide context to the learning of new ideas. As a graduate teacher I aim
to continue to develop my teaching philosophy and continue my education to benefit
the students, my colleagues and myself.
