Letter of Support - PJS
The Perth Jazz Society is providing a letter of support for Imogen Thomson and Austin Salisbury's application for a grant. Imogen and Austin were selected to receive 24 hours of free recording time at a local studio through the Perth Jazz Society's sponsorship program, which supports new artists. The letter recommends that the Department of Culture and Arts also provide funding to help Imogen and Austin complete, market, and release their albums.
The Perth Jazz Society Inc would like to provide a
Letter of Support, and this explanatory note regarding Imogen Thomson and Austin Salisbury, and this application for grant support.
Imogen Thomson and Austin Salisbury have been
successful in accessing Perth Jazz Society (PJS) – Sponsorship.
PJS has been involved in developing new artists and
new talent for 40 years, and is continually involved in developing new initiatives and projects. These initiatives and projects contribute to the successful implementation of PJS (and the WA Jazz community) objectives and aims.
A current project has been to select two highly
talented and creative WA Jazz artists, to receive free recording support (and assistance to produce and release) an album each.
Imogen and Austin will receive 24 hours free
recording time, with a highly respected and successful local recording studio, through the PJS sponsorship.
Imogen and Austin were chosen following detailed
discussions and assessment by the PJS Board of Management. A range of assessment criteria was developed, including the commercial capacity and opportunities for the potential sponsorship recipients.
The talents and future opportunities for Imogen and
Austin are significant and warrant their success in receiving our sponsorship. Subsequently, they also warrant success in receiving Department of Culture and Arts funding support to conduct other necessary components of producing, completing, marketing, and releasing their product.
The Perth Jazz Society would sincerely appreciate
support from the Department of Culture and Arts for the necessary components to complete this album.
