Course Description:
Course Objectives:
At the end of this course the student should be able to apply the concepts and procedures of descriptive geometry to
solve drawing problems, in particular:
1. Representation of lines and planes and their relationship using two dimensional views.
2. Translation of multiview projections to isometric drawings and vice versa.
3. Construction of special views such as sectional and auxiliary views.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

1.0 ATTENDANCE
Attendance is compulsory and punctuality is required. The first hour of every meeting shall be devoted to lectures and instructions.
Obtaining more than 6 absences will result to a force DRP or a grade of 5.0 if the subject is not dropped. An absence is incurred if the
student arrives after the first hour of class. The student will also be late if he/she arrives 20 minutes from the start of the class. 3 lates
is equivalent to 1 absence.

2.0 DRAWING INSTRUMENTS

One 30-60 degree triangle Drawing pencils (grades HB and H) Eraser
One 45 degree triangle One sharpener One protractor
One technical compass

3.0 PLATES
3.1 The student will be required to solve problems on plates every class meeting. The students can only obtain these plates
from their respective instructor. Individual work is required at all times. Borrowing of drawing instruments is not allowed.
3.2 Plates must be satisfactorily solved, neat and of acceptable drawing techniques. The perfect score for each plate is 100.0.
3.3 Unsatisfactory plates will be returned for a complete repetition of the unsatisfactory problems in the plate. Both original and
repeat plates (to be done on 8 1/2 x 11 bond paper) should be submitted to the instructor/student assistant on the
succeeding class meeting after the original plate has been returned to the student. The maximum score for a repeat plate is
50% of the points allotted for the repeated problem in the plates.
3.4 The instructor will designate the due date for each plate. All plates (in class, take home and repeat plates) not submitted on
time without a valid reason will get a maximum grade of 50.0.
3.5 Take home plates will be collected (finished or not finished) on the due date before a new set of plates will be distributed.
3.6 Every student should finish the number of plates prescribed before an exam (and all other works the instructor may assign).
A student will not be allowed to take the exam if he/she fails to complete all the required plates pertaining to that exam.

4.0 EXAMS
4.1 There will be three (3) long exams and one final exam.
4.2 A student is only allowed to take an early/late exam provided he/she has a valid reason. Early/late exam should have at
least one hour overlap with the scheduled regular exam.
4.3 A student who missed an exam due to an excusable absence should inform his/her instructor within three (3) working days
after the missed exam. Failure to inform your teacher will result in a grade of zero. Make up for any missed long exam
will be given within the week before the final exam. A student will be allowed to make up for only one exam. In the case
where the student missed more than one exam, his/her score to the other missed exam/s will be zero.
4.4 The teacher may grant exemption to a student who has a Long Exam Average of 72 or better and does not have a long
exam grade below 60. Exempted students may opt to take the final exam, with an equal chance of improving or lowering
their final grades. Otherwise, their PreFinal (PF) grades will be their final grades.
4.5 A student who missed the final exam due to a valid reason will be given a grade of incomplete, provided that his/her PF
grade is not below 60. To complete, the student must take the final exam of the following course offering within 2
semesters.
