Forum Discussions
Each week, students will complete an online forum discussion by providing at least two posts in
the Discussion Forum for that week. The initial post will be due by Monday evening of the
following week. A response to another student will be due no later than Thursday evening of the
following week. Students will be graded on weekly activity and quality of participation.
Attendance
Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes. A student’s presence and participation in
class are critical factors toward the completion of the work for the class and success in the
course. A student who is absent from class, if at all possible and as a matter of courtesy, should
inform the instructor in advance of the absence. If absences occur, it is the student’s
responsibility to contact the instructor with regard to making up the work missed. Permission to
make up course assignments will be granted solely at the discretion of the instructor.
Course material covered each week requires an understanding of the topics discussed in previous
class meetings.
Format of the Course
The format of the class will be blended, with lecture materials and forum discussions completed
online in lieu of a formal class meeting on the Tuesday evenings of the course. The Tuesday
evening classes will meet in QC104 from 6:30 to 9:30pm. Students will be expected to review
online lecture materials for each week prior to the Tuesday evening class meeting, and to
complete online forum discussion posts.
